College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Trenton

I have moved several times in my life and have never had a bad experience ever. Until now! Used College Hunks for the first time and it was a nightmare. Since I was moving and had pictures of my house posted online, I was given a quote for the move based on the pictures online as well as a time estimate to get it done. Both were way off, I was originally told 4-5 hours and quoted a price of $1400 to do the move.

Jose and his crew did a wonderful job helping us with the first part of our move. They were efficient and friendly. We would highly recommend them! We look forward to having them help us with the second portion of our move! Adding to our review for the second portion of our move with occured a few weeks later. Our experience was nearly the opposite of the first part of our move. Multiple scratches on our wood floors, damage to multiple pieces of furniture.

I used the web form and contacted this firm to schedule a move. I received a response and a promise that someone would be onsite to provide a personal quote. On the day agreed, no one showed, I called in, and they directly messaged their rep. I was contacted and instead of someone coming out, they emailed me a form. I returned this form along with pictures and requested a quote. No response - No interest, and the conversation with their local rep let me know that coming out was out of the question.

To begin, I was initially quoted approximately $700 for what was described as a two-hour move. The move itself was very simple — relocating items across a parking lot within the same apartment complex. However, when the movers arrived at 9:00 AM, I was informed that the move would instead be billed as a three-hour minimum plus additional quarter-hour increments. There were two movers assigned to the job, and throughout the move, the pace felt unnecessarily slow.

Very disappointed in my entire moving experience with the franchise owner, Yuan, and team. The moving team damaged walls and floors on both sides of the move, as well as damaging furniture. They didn't wrap anything in furniture pads except some foam pieces from my mattress. The site operations manager Greg came out with a furniture pen to fix a large, deep scratch on my dresser that didn't match the wood finish very well and has never fully dried so the color rubs off easily onto fabrics.

I don’t even have enough time to express how unprofessional the entire crew was. If one were to compile a list of all the things you would want from a moving company, these guys would be determined to do the exact opposite. They were an hour late (beyond the 2 hour window). It took 6 hours when I was quoted 4.25, despite providing them with an itemized list of everything, save the number of boxes (which no one asked for).

They were easy to schedule and did lower the final price from the quote based on actual time vs. the initial estimate. The movers did not secure the truck well which resulted in something heavy falling and breaking a leg off of my bed's headboard. The driver dismissively handed me the leg saying "this is broke" and went back to unloading. A few days later they sent someone out to repair it who brought it back to their shop. It was returned reattached but crooked.
