The owner responded to my post, see below. It has been almost six weeks since our move and a week since the response below. I have called and e:mailed the company. To date I have not received any response on what remedial action they will take or how I can make an insurance claim. This is terrible business practice and shows a complete disregard for any damage inflicted on their customers. Terrible, like the review below if I could give 0 stars I would.

College hunks is a pathetic excuse for a moving company. They are completely incompetent and disrespectful. We only used them to move our large pieces of furniture 15 minutes down the road- which took them 13 hours (no packing, no moving boxes etc). They either did not wrap or improperly wrapped all items and physically damaged all our furniture. The truck they brought was far too small and they spent over an hour attempting to get our mattress in the truck in the pooring rain.

So 2 days in a row these guys no called no show to get an estimate, not to mention when I called the day after the first no show the guy I spoke to acted like it was my fault. Never again Response to owner: why don’t you start by admitting that you no showed on me twice? Instead of your scripted response that means nothing. Or why don’t you waste some of your time and call me?

For the love of god use any other company, there are many better options. Their “come to your house” no surprise estimate was $1700 and their final charge was $3700, more than double what they quoted. They forgot an entire room of things …

I scheduled a job for cardboard box removal after a move into a new home. I could not believe the price they charged! $500 for the job + labor. I could have saved this for recycling day, or done the job for much cheaper. We also had a desk on the second floor that they did a great job removing, but hardly worth anything close to that price tag. Big time regret for sure. Nice guys though.

I needed to move 1 bedroom set a distance of about 15 miles. After arriving late (1 hour) they moved 1 dresser, 1 night stand, 1 queen size bed, a vanity and lamp. They damaged the mirror and vanity and obliterated the lamp. Then wanted to charge me $900. I doubt these “hunks” ever went to college.

The team worked efficiently while taking great care with everything they handled. The biggest challenge was dismantling a large king-size bedroom set that was definitely not an easy job. They helped us move a 600-pound cast iron tub up to the second floor of our home, and they handled the job with professionalism, care, and a great attitude from start to finish. The experience from start to finish was a great one. I had a previously company lined up who dropped me the day before and heard through a work friend that these guys do a great job. I only had a few items that I needed moved from one location to another along with a few pieces at the destination that needed to be moved. The guys worked quickly, wrapped everything up neatly and got it home. I had forgotten to ask about one item and asked the crew the day of if they could do it.
