In their own words
Commander came highly recommended to us from a friend and everyone at the company was super great and friendly. This was our first time hiring movers instead of moving ourselves and we were very excited. Unfortunately the experience was pretty awful other than their customer service. I want to keep this short so I’ll just bullet point some of the issues we had with commander: - we hired them for two days of work, one day of packing and one day of moving. they went way over time and over quote.
Edit: For everyone’s visibility here is their verbiage regarding travel billing on their initial quote: “Round-trip driving time: Billed from load to unload location”. This clearly states from pick up to drop off of my location, they billed an additional 2 hours to account for driving from their location to mine, and then from the new property back to their location. Including a screen shot for transparency.
Edit: I just finished speaking with the crew, and honestly, I’m surprised by your review. When we arrived, we discovered you had a full wood shop to move, something that wasn’t mentioned beforehand. Like a full warehouse of wood. Wow. You … More
They have lost so many items of our household. and they just do not have the courtesy of responding to our texts and phone calls letting them know of those losses by them. …

In their own words
I’ve used Commander Movers for every move I’ve had, and there’s a reason I’ve never even considered another moving company. They are consistently punctual, professional, communicative, organized, and incredibly systematic in their approach. From the moment you book until the very last box is in place, they make what is usually a stressful experience feel seamless and easy. What really sets this team apart is how thoughtful and pleasant they are to work with.
Hi Leniece, thank you so much for your kind words! It truly means a lot that you’ve trusted us with every one of your moves. We appreciate your continued support and are so glad we could make another move a smooth and positive experience.
You know the thing with movers, that you want to go with a word-of-mouth recommendation from someone you trust. Well, that's how I found Commander Moving and now I want to be the person you trust that tells you to go with them! I've used a lot of different moving companies over the years (7 moves, 7 different movers) and I'm the happiest with Commander. The price was very very fair and the quality of the move team was exceptional.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting us with your move, Julie. It means a lot, especially coming from someone with so much moving experience. Adam and the team will be glad to hear this. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are always here if you need us again. Karel
Commander came recommended by a couple of different folks at our condo complex in Oakland (sad to leave!). We used them to move our big furniture from there back to our home base in South Palo Alto. They were really professional on the quote, and the day of the move they were on-time, professional, and fast! The crew of three had our big pieces wrapped safely in blankets, and moved out in about a tenth the time it would have taken us!
