Do not hire this company to move you. They hire contractors - you think you are buying Macy Movers.....but probably not. They promise you one thing and deliver another. I cannot tell you how angry and deceived I am by this company. They had every chance to communicate they had sub-contracted my job.....but they didn't. I moved with this company last year....had a great experience. Wrote a great review..... One year later, 2018, they sold my job to another company. BEWARE! Hire anyone else but Macy Movers.
Macy Movers drastically underbid our move, and it wound up costing us $5,000 more than we were originally quoted (and quite a bit more than their competitors' bids). Their representative, Joe Flodder, either through intention or incompetence, ignored most of the contents in one of our rooms thus dramatically underbid everyone else we spoke with. When we later complained, we had to take the issue to the corporate office and finally to arbitration. Definitely avoid this company!
Very unprofessional company. This morning two of their drivers blocked the street in my neighborhood in San Francisco. (Revere Ave) . No traffic could get through on that side of street. The bus could not even get through. People were honking at them and they just leaned against their truck laughing. Such an unclassy and unprofessional pair of drivers.

I was unable to oversee movers upon packing and unfortunately the movers not only stole a few items but did not perform the job to standard. My area rug was folded in half and not properly rolled the way an area rug should be, causing …
It has been over a month still no delivery. Keep jacking the price up and when it’s time to get delivered still haven’t showed up. It has been past the 21 “working business days”. I can see where it’s located trackers on my items and it haven’t moved for over 30 days. Avoid this company at all costs. There will be legal action taken here!

These guys were contracted to pack my house for moving by the local affiliate of a national moving company and the three guys they sent did a disgustingly poor job of packing. I have never had my belongings treated with such disregard. …
if it were possible to give zero stars, that would be appropriate. Slick sales job, no results. Will bang your stuff up and tell you it is your problem. Use another vendor. You will regret going with this collection of misfits.
Find another mover. They take furniture apart and deliver it to you in pieces, then tell its your problem. Never use them again, never give them a reference.

In May 2026, we used Macy Movers for our move from Tracy, California to Salem, Oregon, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. After hearing plenty of horror stories about moving companies over the years, I was cautious when choosing a mover. Macy Movers quickly put those concerns to rest. From the initial estimate through the final unloading in Oregon, every person we worked with was professional, organized, friendly, and helpful.

Couldn’t have been happier with the move from one city to the next! Moving staff took proper care making sure everything was cared for packing and unpacking everything. Super nice team including the manager who helped set up the appointment for the estimate guy to come out as well as accompanying a start and end date to complete the move. I highly recommend Macy Movers and will use them again, but hopefully not to soon. :) Thank you again!!!

From the first phone call to the unloading of the last box, Macy Movers went out of their way to make sure that our California to Connecticut move went well. And it did. Their packing team had SWAT-like precision on both ends of the move and the cross-country driver was a real pro. Be careful ... surprisingly there's a lot of BS and scammers in this business - something that we learned the hard way. We highly recommend this company.
