If your goal is to get a royal screw job when deciding on a mover, then Continental Van Lines needs to be at the top of your list of companies to deal with. Having moved long distances several times in my life, I know moving is never easy or fun. But the incredible incompetence (if that's what it was -- read on for an explanation) I and my partner experienced with Continental, and its sister moving company, Mayflower, plumbed new depths of ineptitude on our move from the Seattle area to North Carolina.
I’m so sorry this happened. We’re normally known for our detailed processes and inventory that ensures all items are accounted for and returned safely. Please work with the Mayflower claims department to settle your claim as your move contract did include full valuation to protect you from lost or…
Extremely disappointing experience. They low-balled the estimate, then didn't allow enough time, or a big enough truck, to finish our move within the time promised. They can't even keep track of our forwarding address or spell my name correctly. Small stuff, but attention to details matters. We almost had to postpone closing our house sale because Continental didn't get our furniture out in time. Then they moved all of our furniture from one storage facility to another.
Most furniture was moved efficiently, and movers were courteous, and packed according to a methodology....but 10 of 12 valuable antiques, a delicate lamp, and expensive custom furniture was damaged or destroyed during the move by crushing …

David and his team did an amazing job! I had a high level of concern because of the high value items that I was having shipped across country. I took it upon myself to wrap and box most everything. They have a system in place that each box is counted for and they did a meticulous job with wrapping my furniture. Not to mention the way they placed everything in a very structured and organized manner. They truly have it down to an art form.
