In their own words
I used this company for a cross-state move. The owner Sean came to our house and provided a binding estimate for the move based on his inspection and experience. Then, come moving day, the moving truck he provided (a rental U-Haul by the way), did not accommodate our entire house. Only after this truck was packed and locked did he then call and say we would be required to pay an additional fee, of thousands of dollars, in order to ship the rest of our items.
Mike, you know we did not 'bait and switch'. I gave you a price for one 26' truckload. You added several items to the move and when we realized they would not fit into the truck, I offered to store the over flow items free of charge and ship them to you in the next shipment going to the northeast…
I called Dry Ridge moving and Sean called me back within a a day or so. Sean seemed polite and courteous. The day they were suppose to come out and give me a quote, ended up being a no show. My husband message a man named Jed asking where they were. They were doing another move so my husband at first did not want to schedule another time but ended up doing so. Jed showed up and looked around and said he would call me and tell me my quote. Well never heard back. I should have took the first no show as a red flag.
Move was a nightmare. This company is not adequately equipped and does not know how to properly move heavy antiques. They did not have flat dollies, did not adequately pad or secure furniture resulting in significant and unnecessary damage to many expensive pieces of furniture. Totally unsatisfactory service. My advice is look elsewhere if you care about your furniture.

DRY RIDGE is THE best company for your move!! Sean and his team were very easy to work with, very professional and very keen on communication. Sean sent a congenial, clean and professional crew to handle my move. They were careful and very precise, not damaging anything. I felt like they were taking the same care they would in moving their own family member. The moving day was smooth, and not rushed, but very efficient and a very fair reasonable price.

I contacted Sean at Dry Ridge Moving and Transportation for help with a whole house move from Asheville, NC to Charlottesville, VA and am so happy I did. Sean came over to look at the volume of the job, and the task at hand involved years of accumulation of “stuff” packed into a 3,500 sq ft house. Sean unflinchingly gave me an estimate and told me he could get everything into a 30ft truck, but also told me to get quotes from others, especially if I felt I needed a larger truck, ie a semi.
Just had Dry Ridge move my stuff for the fourth time in six years! I wouldn’t think about going with any other moving company. They are very fairly priced, and are absolutely professional and reliable. All the movers working for Dry Ridge have been very friendly, courteous, eager to do whatever I need and to make sure my furniture and other belongings are well taken care of. The movers who helped me this time were Josh and Kevin, and I couldn’t be happier with them and the move in general.
The team of Erik and Jed and Sean did a fantastic job of arranging and conducting our move from Atlanta to Asheville. Their communication throughout the whole moving process was great and they were very well organized, Jed doing a video walkthrough of the space with us prior to the move. They accommodated the dates that we requested and arrived punctually exactly when they said they would.
