In their own words
Poor service, my piano was damaged and they cleaned their hands of it, and made it seem like they had nothing to do with it, didn't even apologize or offer to check it out. Super disappointed and do not recommend them to anyone, specifically for moving. I am a piano teacher and church musician so need my piano which is not usable now since in moving my sound board got cracked and it now sounds awful.
We highly recommend that all used pianos be professionally inspected or appraised before purchase, and we advised Caty of this before the move. The previous owner of this piano was told by an independent piano technician that it was time to get a different piano.
I was contacted by Farley's regarding the sale of my Mothers piano I had listed online. They tried to strong-arm the sale and would have showed up at her house with a team of people to bully her into a lower price if I hadn't intervened. I even went there to speak with them about my experience and they treated me very poorly in person! I was polite about it too. These people are just short of criminal. Avoid them at all costs.
Our staff, including our used piano manager, does not recall the interactions that you describe, nor do we employ any of the tactics you suggest. While you may have us confused with another piano dealer, we regret any negative experience you might have had.
I purchased my Kawai Grand from Farley's. I called to get my piano moved as I am getting my floors done. They were so rude! and would not take of me or offer help. Needless to say their follow up care is horrible.
We provide moving services for anyone needing to relocate a piano, whether it's out of state or just into another room. As with any type of move, advance planning is necessary. We regret we were unable to help this customer, who called on Friday morning to request a move on Monday morning.
Mini van driver likes to drive the speed limit in the left lane. The pianos are mid. I bet he can’t even play piano. Some one who reads this tell him the gas is on the right.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Farley's House of Pianos was amazing to work with. From the wonderful communication, prompt responses and even better on-site experience. My son started self taught lessons (even though I had asked if he wanted to take lessons), he has surpassed what I could imagine, because he is self driven. Farley's showed up to tune and clean our Cable Baby Grand we adopted when we purchased our home in 2021. When my son first played it after all was said and done, the sound was astounding.
The absolute ultimate in piano sales, service, repair and restoration in the Midwest. I regularly play three pianos which have been restored and maintained by Farley's House of Pianos (including my own instrument) and the quality of their work is first class. You simply cannot find anyone better in the industry. Their sales and service staff is always kind and courteous and they know their craft. Highly, highly recommended.
They just moved a piano for us - it's a heavy old upright. They were easy to work with throughout the entire process: They were the best price I got in town, they showed up exactly when they said they would, were efficient, and knowledgeable. They made it look easy.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Tim Farley and all of the folks at Farley's House of Pianos for the wonderful guidance and assistance received in the purchase of my piano. I would also like to thank Steve Slack for guiding me to a piano that would meet my needs fully. I purchased a 1928 Baldwin model C grand piano which is the predecessor of the model L After discovering it in the store Steve and I discussed several different options and I knew that it would more than meet my needs.
