They dropped my double oven and shattered the glass is one of the doors and also damaged my 25k sectional that was specially ordered from Roche Bobois, from France. They agreed to pay the about 20% of the repair cost, then, backed out of it by refusing to answer my emails (this was their accounting person); which, by the way, they agreed to pay for only because I had paid them an extra $100 to cover and protect the sectional and they did not cover it and never gave me my $100 back.
Hi Aida, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your valuable feedback. We are very sorry that you did not have an enjoyable experience with our company. First Due Movers is committed to offering exceptional customer service and we would appreciate your time in allowing us to gain clarity on the…
They lost one item and damaged two other expensive items while moving our home goods from one home to another home in Washington State, but they are not willing to address those issue although we paid extra to cover the lost and damaged items. Its been more than 3 months we are going back and forth but they are not willing to fix the issues. I have opened a case in Washington UTC, and they found a couple of more discrepancies i.e. over charging, late responding, etc.
I had multiple issues with this company from the get to just to get a quote. They told me that they could move me almost immediately but took forever to respond to my emails and questions so when I finally got an actual quote it was already the day they said they could move me. The biggest issue though was the quote I was given.
I really wanted to use First Due, but just trying to get a move date confirmed was a complete pain. Only consider First Due if you have tons of flexibility in your move date and plan to move in a month or more later. I initially reached out for a move date and was told the date was available. However, they don't hold the date for you until you sign their estimate. To get an estimate, they send a rep out which doesn't happen till a week later.
$1600 to load 1 pod?? They used 29 of their blankets at $6 each. Wife watched Daniel wrap something for 20 minutes. They would use their blankets at $6 a pop rather than the ones I provided. @Tanner, you can say whatever you want, bottom line is I moved the same house from Bellevue to North Bend for less than this. You’re telling me your team can’t load a pod in front of the house for less?
Hey Chris! We take great pride in our work and want to handle your items as if they were our own. We use our own blankets to ensure that items are not damaged while being moved. We are also very upfront with our pricing.
Movers be warned… I actually was a repeat First Due mover customer and was incredibly disappointed in my experience in December 2022. The movers destroyed a dresser that is no longer made by restoration hardware and I have been waiting 3 months for them to fix the dresser. The after move claim support has been horrible and I have had to continually follow up to even get status or information on what was going on. Which to this day, I have no idea if they can actually repair the dresser they broke.
We apologize for your recent experience with us. We work extremely hard to ensure that items arrive at their destination in the same condition that they left. However, accidents do happen, and unfortunately one happened on your move.
Very very dissapointing, especially after good reviews. After I filled out contact form, a highly professional person contacted me immediiately to get details on the move. They asked if I could do 10/31 versus 10/30, which I asked for, I said that was fine. Received estimate and when called to give credit card I am told that date was not available, it was given to someone else. I was told that they do not agree on dates until they get a credit card.
I strongly regret hiring this moving company. Despite tipping them 20%, their service was a complete disaster—they broke nearly all our expensive and valuable items, including a $2,000 TV and multiple antique pieces. Their so-called insurance is weird, with high costs, excessive clauses, and a cap on claims for only 10 items, making it nearly impossible to recover losses. What’s worse, the owner vanished the moment he got full payment-no follow-ups, no accountability.

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
I moved from PA to WA using ABF relocubes and First Due Movers were great from the very beginning when I was asking tons of questions - that were promptly answered. The communication was good during the whole process. The quote was very clear and the amount charged was fair. They are experienced enough to know how many people and hours are needed and how the whole process would work. In the end, the job was finished way faster than planned and I paid accordingly less.
Thank you Danielle! We are so glad you felt welcomed and hope you enjoy the great state of Washington! Should you ever need our services again, we hope to hear from you. Take care.
My girlfriend and I chose First Due to do our local move, about 7 miles distance. Our two movers worked very quickly and efficiently, treated all of our belongings with care, and didn't get a scratch on a single thing. They were friendly and funny guys too! They made what could have been an extremely stressful day very easy and painless. They came in 2 hours under estimate, and only charged for the time they were there, which was significantly lower than the estimate.
Update July 10th 2021: These guys are still the best! I stand by my review below from June of 2019. They recently helped us with our move from WA back to our home state CO in May 2021 and they lived up to my high expectations and maintained the quality that I experienced with them back in 2019. The estimate was spot on, with my approval the guys graciously wrapped up furniture with thick cloths and movers wrap (additional charge) on the pieces that still needed a little extra protection for our long drive.
We moved from a 3,100 sq ft home in Redmond to a 3,800 sq ft home in Monroe. The team did an amazing job handling our stuff with care. Packing happened on day 1. Two guys showed up with packing equipment and did a great job. I made the mistake of asking for a partial pack during the estimate, which caused some trouble on day 2. Next time I'll ask them to pack everything on day 1, while leaving out two days' worth of clothing in a carry-on case. Moving happened on day 2.
