In their own words
We had a long distance move from Dallas to Miami. Unfortunately I have to say that moving guys did a really lousy job. First, The estimator Jennifer didn’t give an accurate quote even she came to the house and recorded everything. The result was extra $3000 charge on the moving day. Second, the packing was done terribly. The boxes were not labeled based on the rooms. We had to search master bedroom items in the garage. The small items (push pins, pens, jewelry etc) were not wrapped, and were thrown in the boxes.
Truly terrible communication every step of the way. I was told I had a "2 week delivery guarantee". After 2 weeks of radio silence, I called dispatch and was told my stuff had not yet left my departing city. That was just the beginning of the breakdown. Once my stuff was handed over to the subcontractor out of New York City, the Green Van Lines team suddenly dropped me.
This company comes across as being very straight forward and professional. Upon walkthrough of my house I was told that I would not have to remove all items from dressers and such but when movers arrived they said it was required and was an extra charge. Read the payment options in contract carefully. Extra 4% charge on credit card which they don’t accept at delivery. Zelle which may limit how much you can pay.
Do not use this company for cross country move. We paid for direct delivery. The driver was good but they hired local. homeless men to unload our belongings. We paid for professional movers. They had no idea how to lift, use a dolly, or take care of our furniture. When we unpacked we found that boxes were missing. I now live in CO with no winter wear. I have lost items that were gifts and have a lot of things to replace. Having checked any place that they could be my assumption is that these boxes were stolen.
This moving company pretends to care about you and your belongings until they have your money in their wallet after pick-up and all your belongings in their possession. Communication after pick-up was non-existent. They were unable to inform us where our belongings were over the month that they had them. The delivery date was pushed back multiple times. When the truck finally arrived, the driver claimed he was unable to pull into the parking lot, despite it being accessed by 18-wheelers multiple times before.
At Green Van Lines, we strive for perfection but are not perfect. The human touch is what makes your move a personal and smooth experience, but it also means we are capable of error. We try to take every necessary measure to protect your belongings and handle them with care.
I would give zero stars if I could. I should have researched this company better as, at first glance, they appear to have lots of good reviews. They must pay for them, because our experience was awful. You may think having someone come over to inventory will nail down what the cost will be. False. They'll show up, start packing, then charge you more for items that were "missed" or because they claim items need to be in their overpriced cardboard boxes for "storage". It's a giant scam.
I moved from Texas to North Carolina with my family and my move was a struggle and very stressful. First, the movers that came to my house to move me took a three hour lunch break which took all day to pack me up. Second, I was supposed to paid half at pick up and half at delivery but that didn't happen. We paid about 70% at pick up, so we told Mike about it and he said he would make sure we only paid 30% on delivery and that didn't happen.
After agreeing upon an established quote for our move with Green Van Lines, their pick up crews tried to charge us an extra $3000. To make matters worse, upon delivery it was discovered that they lost six boxes of personal property and our six foot ladder, exceeding more than $3500 in value. We received a quote from Green Van Lines for an interstate move. It began with going through the entire home reviewing all the contents in every room with their rep, Misty Way.

In their own words
We just used Green Van Lines to move my parents from Texas to Missouri, where I live. We had a great experience with them. From the receptionist who took my call, to the foreman who went to my parents' house to give the accurate estimate, to the employees who packed everything and the drivers and unloading people at the destination, everyone was very professional and did an excellent job. They were fast, but did not cut on quality of service. Everything came in great condition, due to the careful wrapping.
I was surprised on my move looking at some of the reviews, but I was recommended by a very good friend of mine. My move was from LA to TX, since day 1 I was pleased with this company. The movers arrived on time, packed and took care of all my belongings, also Very patient with me as this was my first real big move. Very kind guys, and hard working I might add.. all my furniture was no joke.
I recently used Beau and his team for my move, and I couldn't be more impressed with their exceptional service. From the moment I booked, their team was incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring everything was scheduled at a time that worked best for me. On moving day, the crew arrived right on time and immediately set to work with a smile. They were not only efficient but also took great care in handling my belongings, making sure everything was securely packed and safely transported.
I finally managed to getting around and moving my things from Dallas to New York. I moved a few years ago and left a lot of my furniture and personal belongings in storage. Due to my hectic schedule and my house here being fully furnished I was in no rush to get my things shipped. I called around some local companies in the Dallas area and came across Green Van Lines. I really like what they stand for and am always for supporting companies that are trying to improve our environment.
