Noel came by with to do a quote. He saw how much I had1 and quoted to move refrigerator, piano and water bed. They changed the original moving date and showed up an hour and a half late. Took them twice as long to move. They quoted me also to donate a ton of furniture. They decided last minute that they couldn't do it. I had to call a junk removal company to take furniture and rest of stuff away.
What a disaster! After obtaining several estimates, my family chose Guardian Moves and Storage to move my 89 year old father from North Carolina to Ohio. This was to be a 'full service' move to include packing. The crew was supposed to arrive at 8am Saturday morning. They did not show up until 10:30am. When they did arrive, they did not have boxes, packing materials, or moving blankets. So, half of the crew left with the truck to get supplies while the other 3 guys stayed back to stage up the load.
I used Guardian last weekend to move from Winston Salem to Charlotte. I was pleased with how quickly they were able to load the truck however, once we got to Charlotte the unloading process was much slower than expected. The reason that I decided to use Guardian was because of the quote they provided me after coming to my apartment. I figured that since I had an in home estimate the quote would be somewhat accurate. They quoted me around $850 for the move and the bill ended up being $1200.
I sent an email requesting a quote with detailed information on my move, contact information etc and never heard back via email or received a call. This is probably a blessing in disguise after reading some of the other reviews. We went with another company.
My move overall went smoothly and they were very accommodating. I had to move from one location into their storage facility and then move again several weeks later into my new home. Last week, while still unpacking and organizing, I realized that I am missing a fire pit that was brand new, in the box, never been opened. I know for a fact that it was placed on the truck from the house I moved out of but apparently never made it to my new residence.
I booked them to transfer my 1 BR apartments furniture. When I confirmed them I made sure what they have to transfer and what will be the fixed moving amount that I have to pay once finished. They said it would be $ 495. I double and triple checked as I don’t want to go with the hourly rate transfer. They agreed on that. However during the time of the movement they showed up 1 hour late and then transferred everything within 2 and half hour (including the commute to my new house ).
We apologize that you misunderstood the quote we provided. Our local moves are never a fixed/flat rate, they are always hourly. We also do not charge taxes on moves. The quote you received was an estimate of the time we expected your move to take. It was not a fixed/flat rate.
Do NOT recommend!! Beware! At first meeting they seemed competent. Moved my things into storage to another state while I waited on a house. When I got everything out of storage many items were damaged and ruined. I sent them photos and their reply was, "once the storage door is closed its no longer our responsibility". The guy, yes ONE man, loading the storage scratched and shoved everything in. I can provide photos if anyone would like proof.. Surely they have insurance for this kind of thing?
This cannot be a real company. I requested an online Quote and now they won't stop calling. I have 3 voicemails of Patrick calling and breathing, at least 10 minutes each. About 20 more calls from their number and no one talks.
Hello Adriana, I went back through our online quote requests for the last three months and I do not see one from you. We certainly do not contact people multiple times nor do we have someone named Patrick working for our company.

Great price! Great movers! Great service! We ordered one of the heaviest double 83 inch vanities from Wayfair with the marble top. My husband and I couldn’t slide it into the garage.. we had to get 2 piano Dolly’s to just move it into the garage. We needed it on our 2nd story and have stairs with a landing, so we would have had to tip it vertically to get it up the stairs. 2 guys showed up, one being Remington who were amazingly strong!

I enlisted the moving services of Guardian in April to assist our semi-self relocation move using a national container transport company as we planned to reduce the overall cost of moving our HH goods. National moving van line companies were outrageously expensive but Guardian did offer a reasonable cost for door2door moving service to Colorado but I believed that I could do better with a semi-self move? I was wrong.

Guardian Transfer helped our son and his wife move from High Point, NC to Peoria, IL following their wedding and his graduation from Law School. The move went very well and we were very pleased with the care they took with their household goods and wedding gifts. It was a busy time for our families with the wedding and combining two households for a long distance move to Peoria. Honestly, working with Guardian was the easiest part of all the crazy wedding planning!
