Extremely unprofessional service that I would not recommend using. Set a three hour window for delivery and showed up almost 8 hours later without a single attempt to call. Other reviews agree that items may not be delivered safely. …
We hired them to move a few items. They damaged a custom made desk, which they acknowledged. Scraped the floor in the old house and walls moving into the new house. On the receipt they noted I was to get a call from Cody regarding the damaged desk. Two and half weeks later, I still have not received a call. I called Dan 2 weeks after moving, and discussed the issues. I have not received any response. You have to pay immediately after moving, but then it appears they don't care about you. Extremely disappointed.
I can't rate this company as I haven't used there service but yet I have been charged for it. I was planning a move and needed loading help. I called all over Mandan and Bismarck to get quotes and availability. This included hometown moving. I got a quote and days I was looking for availability and told them I would call back if decided to go with them. I never confirmed any appointment, I never signed anything nor did anyone contact me.
While I have used Hometown Movers once in the past about four years ago and had a good experience, my most recent experience in May of 2026 was beyond disappointing and should dissuade anyone from hiring this company to handle your belongings and be in your home. First, one of the two crew members they sent got out of the truck wearing an ankle monitor, not even attempting to conceal it.
Don’t recommend. Hometown moving was late. Offered to bring an extra person to offset being late. Expected me to pay for the extra person after they made it seem like they were doing me a favor for their bad planning. Broke my entertainment stand. Tried to fix it by putting a flimsy metal bracket that didn’t hold up. Had to buy a new one. From my last experience on I have gone straight to Quality Pack and Load. Do yourself the same favor and avoid hometown moving.

I will admit they were courteous. They damaged a wall in our home and then rely on a less than professional person to repair it. When I contacted Hometown and left a message, didn't get a call back so called a second time and received a return call. There was NO attempt at remediation. My husband had to repair their disaster. The old saying is true, " The cheap comes out expensive."

Hometown moving makes the transition very easy. The crew communicated well and were great!
The Hometown Moving crew was fabulous. We moved on one of the coldest, windiest days and the guys were very professional, getting the job done with no complaints. They handled all of our stuff with care and the bill we ended up with matched the estimate we were given. Highly recommend!
We had them move a piano, which was super heavy and in the basement. The two gentlemen that showed up were super friendly and made easy work with the piano. Took there time and were super safe in moving it. I would recommend Hometown Moving anytime.
