ETA: The reply to my original review shows how seriously Hutchcaraft takes damage to property and the estimate and planning they use in a move. Few comments: - I am not in the moving industry and am not an expert in moving and so I rely on the company to advise appropriately. -I asked for an estimate including packing as I have small children and had no time to pack.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are unprofessional, and dishonest. We had someone from the company come out to give us an estimate about 3 months before we moved. He told us it will take 8 hours to move our belongings over a distance of 35 miles. He put an estimate of 11-12 hours to allow for any incidents. When the movers arrived, they had a smaller van and no boxes. It took them 2 days and 2 trips(16 hours instead of the original 8 hours we had been told).
We are happy that you though our crews were professional and courteous. We are sorry that there were miscommunications between our office staff, estimator and yourself. We do feel that only charging you 10% over the estimate is fair and reasonable and not an attempt to lure or cheat any of our…
Absolutely DO NOT USE HUTCHCRAFT for any moving needs. My engagement band and wedding ring coincidently went “missing” after we used this company to move. I packed up and moved the jewelry myself to the new house, yet they still went “missing”. The company is blaming their background check company for hiring a mover in our crew that had been arrested multiple times for theft - he even had two warrants out for his arrest when he was hired. Don’t use this company unless you want criminals moving your possessions.
We were sorry for your experience. Unfortunately, we can only be responsible for items tendered and moved by our company.
Edit: The owner's reply to my review only reinforces my opinion. Oh, the packing crew SAYS everything was packed correctly? Of course they do. Well, my photos show otherwise, and shifting of the crate in transit absolutely did not place boxes in my bookshelf (which you claim was wrapped), nor did it cause the floor mats roll up on top of other items instead of lay flat on the floor, or put my barbell diagonally in between other items. Stop making excuses for your untrained and unprofessional crew.

Do not use this company for your move! We hired them to move and store our belongs. It has been a complete nightmare. We are not only out the cost of our move and storage but $10,000+ dollars worth of furniture and belongs due hail damage to their semi trailer they stored our stuff in... I would highly recommend using another company.
It was indeed an unfortunate incident. It is very important that our customers make sure their personal, third-party insurance or declared value covers loss outside of carrier's and/or warehousemen's liability.
The packers were wonderful, but the move was a different story. We were told all of our stuff would fit on one truck. This was not what happened. The truck showed up half full with someone else's stuff, so only half of ours would fit. The …
Customer service lady was very rude and aggravated when I tried to receive more information about storage. She even hung up the phone on me before I was finished asking about their options. Would not recommend at all!

We recently reorganized our 4 elementary schools at Rantoul City Schools and relocated our PreK to a new facility. Hutchcraft was amazing on both moves. Polite, organized and efficient. The reorganization move entailed moving items from one school to another school, sometimes to 2 different schools. I have also used them for a personal move combining 2 households into one and again, the best service ever! Whether personal or business involved, I wouldn't use anyone else but them.

I was very happy with the movers at Hutchcraft. They were careful, professional, and great communicators. My move occurred without a hitch, on schedule, and without any damage whatsoever. The movers, Josh, Abelino, and Dequwwn were experts and a pleasure to work with. I can recommend wholeheartedly.

They were on time and ready to go. They really listened about what we had and made a game plan for what to take first. From the time they showed and loaded up to the time they fully unloaded my house it was 2.5 hours. They had the best tools for each item needed to be moved.

I just moved cross country from San Antonio, TX to Champaign, IL and contracted my move through Mayflower moving. The moving company that packed my stuff in San Antonio did a hap-hazard job packing my furniture and there was a lot of damage to my furniture. The next day the owners son came out to assess the damage and did fast and amazing repair work to my broken furniture AND repaired the bent stabilizer on my peloton bike (which, if you’ve ever felt how heavy those things are, was not an easy task).
