We had the worst experience with this company. Not only did the owner asked me to help carry my furniture into my home, he or his helper broke my desk and I had to ask about it when I saw it in their hands in pieces. They should have come …
Hi Wilks, sorry you had a bad experience. We offered to reimburse you for your desk. You insisted that we just send a technician out to fix it, which we successfully did. We asked for your help to speed things up before it started raining.
Horrible experience with Illini Movers. Hired 3 people to load, only 2 showed up. UPack stated we'd need 23ft of the semi to fit our load. They used all 28ft and still couldn't fit everything. I supplied them with 2 spools of rope to secure the load. They used 1 spool, then left the other spool in the trailer, unopened, loading over it. They stacked too much weight on the rows of boxes and on top of the furniture, crushing boxes and breaking furniture.
Scheduled for my move with their schedule online just fine and got a text saying they were all booked up and unable to do my move.. not sure why I was able to book the appointment if they were not available. Need to make sure to have …

In their own words
I had such a positive experience with Illini Movers. I booked their service through U-Haul to have help unloading a 15ft truck at my final destination of a cross-country move. Prior to moving, I reached out to Chris to confirm the day and estimated time of arrival. Chris was responsive, flexible, and more than willing to make accommodations given the distance of my move. For instance, he was able to offer evening availability (after 5pm), although I imagine that was not ideal for him and the other movers.
Man, these guys aren’t even done and I’m so impressed. So professional, so efficient. We have dollies but they came prepared w furniture straps to move cabinets by hand instead of using the dolly. They’re working at a great pace and working well together. Highly recommend.
We hired movers to help move our big ticket items and the day of the move the company ghosted us. No text, calls, or emails, and we had rented a Uhaul truck for 24 hours with the intention of getting all the large items done in one day. When it was midday and we had noone to help we started to panic and began calling around the see who was the available to help us for another day. Illini movers were able to come out and help us the same day!
Chris was extremely great at communicating when he and his crew would be arriving. They made quick work of getting our furniture loaded up and used the furniture covers we provided appropriately. Nothing was moved or damaged in the process! So thankful for a reliable crew when I was very stressed. They did arrive 15 minutes late, but they let me know ahead of time and got to work as soon as they arrived. Would hire again!
