John Ferguson Moving & Storage

What began as a promising experience after meeting John (the owner) who is a very nice person, turned into a big disappointment. They experienced a traffic delay and arrived several hours late for packing and ran out of boxes so had to leave early (around 3:30) the first day. Another traffic delay resulted in a late start the following day resulting in a late departure. This was our first disappointment.

I got at least 5 estimates and read many reviews on Google and I asked on Nextdoor and I was referred to this company and so I chose them and I have never had a WORSE EXPERIENCE !!! Started off just getting there , their employee Carlos was rude, whining about parking the truck , not wanting to load this or that , loading 1 bin at a time and just being rude . It was more his attitude and the way he talked to me that was inappropriate.

My roommates and I, were quoted at $460.00 to relocate a pool table, approximately 5-10 Minutes down the road. During the discussions of price, disassembly was mentioned as was the presence of stairs in the residence. When it came time to deliver, we received a phone call stating the price would be increased… $1000.00 dollars!!!!! So, our order went from $460.00 to $1460.00 because of stairs and removing 4 legs Of a pool table which was already known.

First I have to say the staff and owner are very nice, but if there is a problem, the story changes. I used them once to move me from the West side of El Paso to Central, and only a few items, and was very pleased, so when my husband and I decided to move to an area close to Houston, my husband recommended them to help us load an ABF truck. The owner John came to our home and gave us a price for two men for a day, and by the time he left, had gained our business for the entire move and we canceled the ABF truck.

I’ve used Furgeson 3x. First two were excellent. This last one was abominable. I hired three movers. Right away the driver of the truck was upset bc the large space for him to park was not to his comfort and took 30 min to loop around and park anyway. He quit working bc he had allergies and sat in the truck for hours. They sent a very young and able man which worked hard and they sent an older man who was DRUNK. He smelled of liquor and was dropping boxes.

A year ago this company packed my belongings and stored them for a year. It was a very positive experience. On June 29th , this year my belongings were delivered to a different residence in El Paso. This time the experience was terrible. Many things were broken/damaged. And we have not even finished unpacking. There were 2 trucks. First truck crew were in a big hurry and very careless. I believe a lot of the damage happened when my things were loaded to be delivered on June 29th.

I’m just gonna start off by saying that I don’t like to write bad reviews. I always try to be understanding and give the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately I have to resort to this. The actual move didn’t go entirely smooth. The movers damaged SEVERAL pieces of our furniture and they damaged the door and door frame to our NEW apartment. They gave us a number to their dispatch so they could send someone to fix it.

I hired this company for a short move based on the positive Google reviews. Due to bad communication, I spent $800 for an incomplete 12 mile move and a bunch of lightly damaged furniture. The guy who gave me the estimate did not do a good job of informing me or gathering information about the move. When the movers arrived, they told me there was no way they could do the job in the estimated time.
