This is a long review but if you are considering hiring John's Moving and Storage, please read it in it's entirety and then hire someone else to trust with your belongings. I hired John's Moving and Storage based on a recommendation from a neighbor who had used them a month before our move. The quote process was easy and Jamel was very responsive and I thought thorough. We went through our home room by room and discussed what we planned to move ourselves and what we wanted them to move.
We are very sorry you had a bad experience with John's Moving. We take customer service very seriously. In addition to the money Mrs. Harrison mentions in her review we also had our repair company go out to fix the damaged furniture. Again, we are very sorry you had a bad experience!
I used John's Moving & Storage to move my mom. It was local, 10 minutes from her old house to new house. The movers were late. They were non professional. Went through my mothers freezer without asking and took her ice cream. They also used her bathroom without asking. Boxes were labeled fragile and i verbally told them what the boxes labeled for and they threw them on the ground and broke a few frames. I wouldn't recommend this company at all.

A VERY disappointing move. First, after an onsite visit by one of their folks we were quoted about $3500 for the move, which seemed fair. He estimated about 14,000 pounds. We had him look at every room to include the storage so that we …

Horrible experience with them! Broke the legs off my grandmothers dining room table and damaged several other pieces of furniture. Claims filed wouldn’t replace what we had. Also crushed our wedding glasses and 50 year old china in boxes …
I am sorry that you experienced damage to your belongings during your move. We take every precaution to prevent damage. We did settle your claim and reimburse you for everything per the State of North Carolina’s policies. We take customer service very seriously at John’s and strive for excellence.
Was added to their mailing list simply because I listed my property. I called and spoke to Jill and when I asked to have my address removed, she responded with "ok. You won't receive anything else." …

This is the 3rd time using John's Moving and Storage between all our moves between Raleigh, Wilmington and Asheville. They traveled / started at all those locations, always on time and the team that showed up were always very professional, fun, and wrapped and packed our stuff really well and with lots of care. Of course certain things will break...but even then, they were easy to work with. I would highly recommend.

Great job! I move a lot for my career - I always hire help because I have nails that don't deserve what moving does to them. I don't know if I'm just so used to the process or if this company is really just that good - but I think it's safe to wager it's the moving company. They were super nice, felt more like family than paid help. Fair price - on time - didn't damage my stuff (rare).
