Beware. Get a written quote first! Arrogant, and unprofessional. Be ready to shell out $125 first. I live in Lowell, and have a beautiful Yamaha upright I purchased new in 1993, and haven't played all that much over the past few years. I had to practice for a wedding last month and noticed she was fairly out of tune, and hadn't been tuned since 1993. I know, shame on me. I found Jimmy online with ALL these 5-star reviews so I gave him a call.
He may have sterling reviews regarding piano tuning, but Jimmy's conversational skills could use some real work. I called about servicing a piano for our business and getting back to a regular maintenance schedule. I asked him simply how much the service would cost and he immediately asked if I "was just shopping around". As if it was completely insulting to make sure his services aligned with our budget. He then went on to say how if I wanted a cheaper service I could get one, "and you get what you pay for".
He is a smooth talker and I paid a lot of money for his work. I question it. My Piano doesn’t seem to need tuning now and I’m told that good old pianos will keep their pitch. I have a Schiller grand.
Hi,Susan After checking my database, it doesn’t appear that I have any Schiller grands that I service. You are right that Schiller is an older name and they haven’t been made in a very long time, but, I believe you have reviewed the incorrect business.
Not great. Charged too much when I contacted and I went through somewhere else and they charged way less. Ripping you off!!
I do not recall ever quoting or servicing for you; I would be curious to see who this is, if you would be happy to provide some context. If you call around other Registered Techs, you’ll find my pricing is in line with theirs.

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

Jimmy is exceptional is every aspect of his business ... as I have observed in 2 visits to my home. He has done superbly professional work in tuning, adjusting, felt replacing on my Kawai upright. Its sounds are now majestically beautiful. He arrived about 2 minutes early for each appointment and immediately got down to business. With a cheerful spirit, he unfurled his pouch of tools and quickly opened up the piano.
I highly recommend Lakeside Piano Service. Jimmy was fantastic to work with; responsive, knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and very helpful. I was amazed by how great he made my second-hand upright sound and feel.
We moved to the area a little over three years ago, and of course our piano needed tuning after such an ordeal. After receiving a couple of recommendations one of which came from our church pianist, we contacted Lakeside Piano Service to do the job. I was immediately impressed with Mr. Espinoza's friendliness and patience with me and my questions. After he tuned our little spinet, he gave his diagnosis.
Jimmy has been providing superb service for our baby grand for many years. In fact, after the piano had been moved across the country several times (yikes), Jimmy reconditioned it and it now sounds as beautiful and vibrant as the day we bought it, brand new, more than 30 years ago. Not only is Jimmy meticulous in his craft, but he's also the consummate professional: always a delight to converse with, highly knowledgeable but never pretentious, and clearly driven by integrity, kindness, and diplomacy. I noticed L.
