McCarley Moving & Storage

My shipment was very delayed and arrived the evening prior to my first day of work. The initial agent that contacted me to go through shipping details was not responsive and gave incorrect information (they picked a pick up date with a specific driver in mind, but then gave no updates once the driver decided to not pick up the order. They also told me movers will help me assemble furniture out the box, which was not true).

I had some serious issues with how Vicky handled my move. I let her know multiple times that we had a lot of small items that would be very time consuming to pack, but she chose not to heed my warning. Our packers/movers themselves were awesome, but I feel Vicky was incredibly unprofessional and she did not want to help me. Scott did come out to fix some of the issues, but if you are hoping to arrange a move and Vicky is your move coordinator, expect serious issues.

Absolutely horrible experience. The movers themselves were great but the company is total garbage. They lost half of our items and then miraculously found them 5 days later. Our brand new floors were damaged and they denied the claim without ever sending anyone over to view the damage. DO NOT USE!!!

Very displeased with our experience. Hidden charges that weren’t disclosed before paying and refused to credit them after bringing it up. Broken items and no accountability. Do not recommended.

Absolutely the worst moving company in Georgia. I have moved many times and have had anything close to the amount of broken and destroyed items as I had when McCarley packed and shipped my house. Over 20 items were damaged in some way and others were completely destroyed. Much of this resulted from careless packing and wrapping and stacking heavy items on top of light items, which defies all common sense. They also broke my washer and dyer by stacking heavy items on top of them inside the truck.

Response to Reply: If integrity were important to you as a business, then you would have crated my stuff for an oversees move in front of me, not back at your facility. Vicky explicitly said on the phone that they crate at your facility for an overseas shipment. That is COMPLETELY against the military rules and regulations for moving household goods overseas. If you had integrity, then Vicky and your employees would have done the right thing and crated my stuff in front me at my home.

Now that my move is finally complete, I can provide feedback regarding this company. The people we dealt with were all super nice and we seemed to be in good hands. Unfortunately, once our items arrived, I found out that's not the case. Day 1: Two packers arrive. One is relatively new and the other is a little more experienced. It took 5 hours for them to pack 90% of my upstairs and boy was that a mess to unpack! First up - My kids rooms and the playroom.

I would not use this moving company unless they come in cheaper than other quotes AND you are able bodied with plenty of time off to reassemble furniture. I was recommended this moving company by a company that specializes in downsizes, particularly for the elderly. I was downsizing and thought it would be perfect, and I was more than willing to pay for a full service move (as it was advertised).
