My Town Movers

Spoke with Preston, terrible customer service. Two movers (one experienced, the other not) were sent. I had to help the movers (while pregnant) the entire time and it still took them 8 hours. I have video of the two movers yelling at each other, the elder yelling at the younger team mate common sense orders. Turns out, they were a father and son duo. They damaged 3 pieces of furniture, left my couch taken apart, and broke the wiring on two pictures.

Update: Not what they used to be. My sister Lu moved from house to house in Collierville literally 1.5 miles apart and they said they had a wedding to go to that night and would only take one truck load. No mention of this when move was booked in advance. They had to take some stuff off the truck to take heavy stuff so husband had to move all the rest his self later. Then they just dumped the stuff off without building any of the beds or entertainment centers back.

I used this business two years ago when I made my initial move. I had a wonderful experience. So, without hesitation, I used them again for my move. They sent four men to my house. They were unorganized and all four men went to different rooms. Four men on a three bedroom two bathroom assignment took 7 1/2 hours. The workers came to me and told me that it was time for them to go around 2:30pm. There was still stuff that had to be moved.

do NOT book the “load only” services with this company. they can break your items upon loading and no accountability or reimbursement will be made because it isn’t loaded on THEIR truck. even offered blankets and padding to movers and they declined them! lost a 75 in TV and set due to their negligence. you’ve been WARNED! Although it was clear our items wouldn’t be covered during the move (which was fine), if the movers BREAK THE ITEMS UPON LOAD, THE COMPANY SHOULD REIMBURSE.

Would not recommend this company. They say they will take extra care in your items, but that is not true. I have a beautiful German grandfather clock, and the movers dropped all 3 weights that they had wrapped in a blanket. The company has refused to ensure the weights are repaired and sent me a check of $84.00 to cover the damage. Plus they nicked other furniture pieces and left tape residue on leather furniture.

Horrible moving experience. The movers either really milked their time or just didn't know what they were doing. They would bring one item in at a time or sometimes come in with nothing at all. If we weren't paying them by the hour, it would have almost been comical. Around $1,000 worth of damage was done to my furniture due to negligence and the owner of the company handled it extremely unprofessionally.

I hired My Town to pack a U-Haul for me to drive to Dallas. They didn’t secure the items and boxes fell on top of some antiques and a framed picture that were broken. When I let them know, they said it was in the contract that I signed (that was only given to me by the loaders to be signed) that they would not be responsible if they were not delivering the items themselves. I can break things by myself. I hired My Town because I thought they knew how to pack a trailer. Do NOT use this service.

My Town Movers posted a Groupon but then failed to honor it when I called to make an appointment. Acted clueless and only offered a mere 10% discount. Their services might be great (I didn't ultimately use them), but they shouldn't leave online offers available if they're totally unwilling to honor them.
