In their own words
We had used premiere for 3 moves, one just in the HRM, one to Ontario and one back to Halifax The first two moves were amazing and the team was a dream to work with. The last one, back to Halifax was a mess. The movers on the Ontario side treated our things so poorly, they didn't have the correct tools to take apart the bed and our stuff was not put into a sealed pod like it was to Ontario. They then repacked our stuff into a pod at the shop and sent it on the truck to NS.
The sales process was great, but the after sale process left me angry. The Operations Manager was completely uncooperative because he wouldn't answer my emails to him. Not answering emails is totally unprofessional and I cannot recommend this company based on this person's behaviour.
Based on my experience with premier van lines, here are some things I wish I had known before I booked them (single woman, 30’s, local move). This all might be industry standard stuff, but I still wish I had known before I chose this company: •They start charging from the moment they leave their warehouse in Dartmouth. Depending on where you live/traffic that’s quite the charge before they even arrive at your door, when I booked they charged $229 per hour + tax, might be more now.
The packing was done quite well but unfortunately the moving and storage was not. The moving was, unbeknownst to us, subcontracted to another company. Our furniture was in storage for three months. We paid quite a bit of money for this move and were very surprised by the results. They damaged all five pieces of our 1785 table which we don't know if it can be repaired. They chipped two other valuable antiques multiple times. They broke two lamps -- for some reason they hadn't bothered to pack the table lamp.
Hired this company to move my4 bedroom house from Halifax to Antigonish (2he drive). Contract signed, all good. Day before the move I realized on the contract that the date was the day after I requested...NOT the day I requested (albeit my own fault for not catching it sooner) but the email title was the date I requested so I assumed they were competent to write in a date (again I was wrong for assuming).
Giving two stars and not one because the delivery guys were great. Otherwise, I probably will not do my next move with Premiere, mostly because expectations were continually not met due to failures of communication throughout. We thought lower weight would mean lower cost. Our contract simply said that the final cost would be determined by weight, and every indication was that lower weights cost less.
We have moved quite a few times and this is the worst company we’ve ever had to deal with administration wise. The crew was 3 1/2 hours late bc they had a random vehicle inspection in which they failed. The driver admitted he didn’t do his pre-inspection. The crew were exceptional moving the contents of the house, however, the CEO down to the dispatcher were terrible to deal with. The CEO sent a text saying he would call us. It’s been 2 weeks and we still haven’t heard from him.
The Premiere Van Lines took down Power lines and ripped off a neighbours Power mast. This incident pushed all packing of contents back 4-5 hours. When they did deliver ,all the help but 2 guys were young ,they did pretty good. The dining table has a wonky leg now which never did before. We noticed 2 older guys trying to screw something in the one wonky leg. Looking back it’s obvious that they mishandled the table. As of today there are 3 long wooden legs missing and a lamp shade from the living room lamp.

In their own words
Very responsive and professional. The guys carefully disassembled and reassembled my furniture. They worked quickly and carefully. I would definitely recommend them!
I contracted with Premier Van Lines for a local move, and they were fantastic! It started with a great sales consultant who answered all my questions, told me many things I hadn’t thought of, and emailed me helpful information for planning my move. The Operations team continued the great service and kept me well-informed in the days leading up to the move. On the day of the move, the moving team arrived on time and were amazing - quick, cheerful, professional and a real pleasure to work with.
Thank you for providing Premiere Van Lines Halifax with a positive review. Stay safe Tammy.
Third time using Premier to pack and move our house. Friendly and professional through and through. Bonus: the job was done faster than planned and came in under the quote. I would highly recommend!
Premiere Van Lines Halifax, was responsible for the canadian portion of our move back to Canada from Europe. Being a military family, of all the many moves we've done, this was by far the easiest, thanks to the staff from Premiere Van Lines Halifax. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this company. From the initial contact by Neil West, the personal touch and the quick response to concerns by Neil whenever we had a question.
