This is the first negative review I’ve ever left in my life. I’ve moved 10 times and this company was THE absolute worst. Yes, the movers themselves were incredibly sweet, but my items have severe damage to them that cannot be fixed, and they lost screws and hardware for furniture. They should have known how to pack items for the least amount of damage possible, wrap items properly, and they should have taken the hardware for the furniture items and secured it to that actual item m, which they did not.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Professional Movers of Charleston that left me not only feeling overcharged, but also dealing with the aftermath of their unprofessional conduct. From the outset, their lack of care during the move resulted in damage to the door of my previous apartment complex. I was informed about this by my old property manager who needed the movers' information to address the issue. The task at hand was a simple one - moving to a small one-bedroom apartment.

I had high hopes for Professional Movers of Charleston because they advertise themselves as being Citadel-run. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. If I were rating the moving crew alone, they would receive 5 stars. They were hardworking, courteous, and did everything they could under difficult circumstances. If I were rating management and customer service, however, it would be 0 stars. From the very beginning, the communication was poor.

The moving crew was hard-working and polite, and I want to give them credit for that. Unfortunately, my experience with the owner, Chris, was very negative. He came across as condescending in every conversation, which made the entire process unpleasant. Scheduling was also a challenge. In general, they lack customer service, and are very difficult to communicate with throughout the process.

Without even sending a rep to look at my house, "professional Movers" rather a joke in terms of their name, offered an estimate of $135 to move the contents of my 2200 sq. foot house across town. No personal interaction, nothing other than an internet correspondence. How this company calls itself professional is beyond me. Will be curious to find out whether this review is posted.
David, we have no records of contact from you in our email system, phone log, or on our schedule that we have ever moved with you. We believe this is a mistake and sorry you feel this way.
Realizing more items are missing that were part of my local move. There was one item immediately identified right after my move and located a week later, but after some time (albeit 7 months and I can’t prove it now) I’ve become aware that I’m missing items that were packed, loaded, but never unloaded.

5-Star Review for Professional Movers of Charleston (PMC) I chose Professional Movers of Charleston based on my daughter’s glowing recommendation after her local move with them. She had told me the crew was made up of Citadel students — either currently enrolled or recent graduates awaiting military service or grad school — and she was so impressed with their professionalism and work ethic. From the very first email, PMC was incredibly responsive and timely.
If you’re looking for a moving company that does a great job, look no further! We packed ourselves and used PMC’s truck and crews. Every piece of furniture was wrapped in blankets and stretch wrap. Crew of 4 hard workers were careful and polite got us loaded quickly. Next day at our new home, 2 unloaded with exceptional care for our stuff and new home. Price was a great value, too!

Three bedroom house pack and move. The Team at PMC exemplifies professionalism. In my particular case, I contacted them with less than two weeks to move. Communication: Their website is clear and straightforward. Contact information, pricing, insurances, etc are all available. For any questions, a simple click on the email gets you a timely response (less than 24 hours). In person, the various team members exhibit the best of southern hospitality and patience.

My realtor suggested using PMC for my recent move. I contacted Chris, of PMC, just days before my move. My request was received with calm reassurance that it would get done. Chris also provided clear/concise billing details. Chris maintained periodic contact: reminders, updates, etc. The PMC crew made contact as they were heading to my address and once they were nearby. They were on time, courteous, professional, polite and prepared to work. After quick introductions, they wrapped, padded and loaded my furniture.
