Had a video estimate by Swamp Rabbit, which was their first mistake. It should always be an in person estimate. When the movers were 2/3 complete filling their truck, they told me another truck was requested and I had to pay an additional $2,000. This was quite the surprise and I was not on board with this decision at all. They tried to fit everything on truck #1, when that plan failed, they tried to fit remaining items into my already filled SUV.
Mrs. Anderson, I do apologize for dropping the ball on getting back to you, I take full responsibility. I hope you find my voicemail and email and accept my sincere apology.
I was given the great feat of finding movers for my retired parents. I reached out to Swamp Rabbit Moving and spoke to Rachel in the Charleston area. I was immediately turned off by her insistence that they “are not the cheapest movers in town.” After the 3rd or 4th time of Rachel stating how she “doesn’t want to waste either of our time” I asked her why it seemed as if she was dissuading me from even getting a quote from them.
Kia, first and foremost I apologize for any inconvenience you feel you have experienced while trying to communicate with our team at Swamp Rabbit Moving. I understand that everyone’s time is precious. However, our representative you spoke to was under the impression that no meeting was ever set up.
I selected Swamp Rabbit Moving because of their excellent reviews and was willing to pay their premium prices. Having just restored our home after a fire, we didn't want to risk inexperienced movers handling our belongings or damaging our newly renovated home. While about 80% of our move went smoothly, several significant issues occurred that I cannot overlook: - A mover placed a heavy laundry basket directly on top of my expensive LG monitor, causing a deep screen scratch - Crew members pushed heavy boxes across…

Avoid Swamp Rabbit Moving Company at all costs. This was, without exaggeration, one of the most stressful and expensive experiences of our lives—and entirely due to Swamp Rabbit Moving Company’s incompetence and dishonesty. They never sent anyone to our home to assess the size of the move or the items (even though the move crew later told us that they always send someone out to quote homes with basements).
We’re truly sorry to hear how stressful and disappointing this experience was for you. That is not the standard we aim to deliver, and we understand how upsetting it is when a move does not go as planned—especially when it involves damage to personal belongings and a prolonged claims process.
Overall just not happy with the service! I put my faith in them as a single Mom moving my stuff and using them for storage out of everyone that was recommended to me on FB only to be disappointed. My move was already very stressful. It started off with what was supposed to be a smaller quote with a “it shouldn’t be over this amount” to “it will definitely take 4 hrs or less” to when the guys showed up, it took them half a day and I needed bigger u it to hold my stuff because they under quoted me.

Update. As unhappy as I was before, I am even more unhappy with this company. They ended up reaching out after my review to discuss what I said. I spoke to one of the sales guys who seemed not to interested in what I said. I didn't even want to talk about it but I went ahead and talked about our move so maybe others didn't have our experience. He assured me more than one time that he was going to talk to management and they would reach back out to me by the end of the day. Well several days later....

These people have been incredibly frustrating to deal with, and their business is downright shady. Sorry for the impending long review, but I want to give an honest account of my experience so far with these folks. I used their services once prior to my most recent move. Wasn't too bad. They took a lot longer than expected, and I ended up paying about $500 more than the estimated total, but it was fine.

Pros: (1) Came on time (2) Moving crew was great and hard working Cons: (1) did not bring tools for washer & dryer hookups, even after confirming by phone 2x times and by email. I did not make things difficult for them because after struggling I got the apartment maintenance to help out. (2) stopped at a gas station during the middle of the move (<10 mile move). I left later than the truck (~4 mins) and got to the new place faster (~12 mins). I was charged for 2.5 hours, but did not contest on good faith.
