Republic Moving & Storage

STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVER! I had a binding contract with Republic Moving in San Diego that Don et al decided once they had all of my household goods in their warehouse to attempt to extort more money from me; a violation of the contract. Don told me I either pay more or they keep 1000 lbs of my household goods. He also said that if I did not pay that he would do a web smear campaign against me. They chose the 1000 lbs option and went through my goods and either stole or purposefully damaged a number of items.

We Moved from California to NE Florida and left all our worldly good in storage for approximately 6 months; while we look for a home to buy. We felt we could trust this Company: However, upon delivery my newly purchased home was undergoing renovation and I did not open the boxes being delivered. Looking back, that was my first mistake! The delivery driver was in a hurry and kept insisting that he had 3 more delivery that day and we needed to off load my house goods. His helpers were under the same pressure.

Coordinating the actual move was tough, because they won't schedule a time until they actually have the goods (my stuff was coming from Colorado from a different company, and being processed and delivered to my place in San Diego through Republic Moving). That wasn't their fault, but they received it on a Monday, scheduled the delivery to my place the day after (this is a postive). However, I had a tight timeline on delivery day that they said they could work with. I had a VA appointment at 10 am that day.

Terrible. Held my stuff for 2 weeks and didn't even bother to contact me. Called during business hours and eas on hold for 2 hours being #1 caller in line. Had to call back on Monday and another 45 min wait being #1 in line.

Being in the military this is part of my job. This is by far the WORSE experience I have ever had moving. They missed my delivery date by a week and forgot an item half way accross the US. I got my stuff and 25% was broken cause they packed it wrong. Please stay away from them. If I could give it negative stars I would. I even called their QA department to set up delivery of my left behind item.

This company was selected for my PCS from the east coast to San Diego. We had to do a very thorough walkthrough about the amount of stuff we had, including measurements. This effort was pointless. The day of the pick-up, expecting to see all the usual equipment and a crew of 3 or 4 people... We were welcomed with no bubble wrap (RIP TV), and a there was a crew of 4 but 2 of the said 4 were the children of the 2 movers.

DO NOT use this company Everything with our move started off well. I had a professional and timely meeting with Skip, our estimator. He handed me over to Amber, our move representative. The process was straightforward, and this was the company (Republic) that had moved me multiple times while I served in the military without issue. The packers showed up on time, and seemed quite professional. Packing and loading went as expected.

Packers packed on Wed scheduling the move for Friday. Then while my husband and I were in AZ finalizing things on our way back my daughter said the movers packed the house while we were gone. Issue is packing things we dont need and not packing things we need. Now in AZ w a half ass move. While 1/4 our things stil in Cali and our house in AZ has things that were supposed to stay in Cali. They managed to dent every 6 of my crock pots and gashes in brand new furniture we purchased.
