Royal Moving & Storage Austin

DO NOT use this company, they are unprofessional and untrustworthy. 3 movers arrived late, one looked like he was 15 years old. They arrived in an unmarked box truck, no company logos in sight. The lead "mover" was rude, walked around like he didn't know what he was doing wasting precious time I was being charged for. He wanted to charge more than the quoted estimate. When I refused to pay that amount he said he wouldn't move me and left!

I do not understand how the reviews are so good. I am having to move very last minute. I scheduled them to come today. I explained to the woman on the phone that I am going from 3rd floor to 3rd floor but my elevator at my current apartment may not be working in time. She understood and asked me if I had any extra heavy items such as a pool table or a safe. I told her no, largest items being 2 standard sized dressers. She said that would be no extra charge. Flash forward to today.

I had a terrible experience with Royal Moving. They showed up over an hour late and I spent the next 7 hours dealing with the movers not listening to me. They stacked heavy things on top of boxes marked Fragile, just randomly threw stuff all over the place in my garage instead of putting it in any kind of order or organization, and they lost the glass shelves to an antique display shelf that I now have to somehow figure out how to replace.

The movers themselves were professional and worked hard, and I appreciate their effort. However, they arrived 3.5 hours later than my scheduled move-in time, which immediately set the day back. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, the moving company would not offer another crew or provide any accommodation to start earlier. What should have been a straightforward 3-hour move turned into more than 5 hours due to rush-hour traffic, with the crew not leaving until 10:30 PM.

2 trucks 8 guys showed up on day of move that morning, and I was asked what my expectations were. When I said move me form A to B. He was like no time wise. When I said 8-9 hrs. He said oh no. Its going to take 16hrs I estimate, and then we spent 45 minutes discussing price which I said I agree on hourly rate lets just get moving, but the estimator who estimated over weight items charged me $100 for safe,fridge, and $150 for piano.

I will share the email sent just now - I have coordinated this move for weeks and provided a detailed spreadsheet, photos, etc. When the team showed up today, the price changed astronomically AND all of the information I provided and was told would be given to the moving crew WAS NOT provided to them. After my horrible experience last year with a different moving company, Nathan assured me their company would NOT do those things...

Worst moving experience I’ve ever endured. The movers took 7 1/2 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment less than 2 miles away. They also stopped several times while at my first location to use my punching bag when they thought I was unaware. All together they charged me over $1100. While in communication with their support team, they have decided that I should’ve “hired a larger team” for my 700 sq ft apartment… which no other moving company has ever had an issue with.

Update: After 6 months, we still can't things. They dumped everything in the garage and didn't label anything. I told them not to move items in my old room and they did anyways. We didn't find out until days later. 🤬 …
