Don't make the mistake that I made! I did not buy extra insurance to cover damage. On three previous moves with national moving companies, I had no damage, so I had a false sense of security. Recently, I had this company do a local move where substantial damage was done to an upright piano. The mover explained that he left the piano on a 4-wheeler cart strapped to the inside wall of the truck.
The experience started off good with a quick estimate and availability. They showed up on time. Yet the day dragged on and for only moving 20 minutes away it was well after dark when they left. I had my husband start helping because I needed to get the kids into bed. From there the experience just got worse, we discovered boxes and boxes of things broken. Multiple platters, glasses , scratched furniture and the worst was our fridge door was broken. The handle was smashed in and made the door unusable.
We had booked our move over the phone, the estimator had provided a written quote, we boxed our house, arranged sitters for our kids and took the day off work. The movers never arrived. The company tells us they didn’t have us on the …

I hired Ruff & Ready Moving based on a recommendation I received from Next Door, a social media site. It was the worst move of my life. I have a very large home with many expensive antiques. I had upwards of 250 boxes which needed to be moved into different rooms according to how they were clearly marked. The movers took apart my antiques to make them easier to move, but when the furniture was delivered, a different set of movers was tasked with putting the furniture back together and they had no clue how to do…

Based on my experience, I would not choose this company again. There were unexpected changes to payment amounts on moving day, storage charges that did not reflect the final inventory, scheduling issues, and damage to multiple items. The repair process took over two months to resolve and required consistent follow-up. Overall, the process was far more stressful than it should have been. I recommend proceeding with caution and ensuring every detail is clearly documented before hiring.

My Grandmother and I recently moved to Kingman, Arizona from Canyon Lake, CA. We called so many different movers and stressed out about it for months. Finally, we found Ruff And Ready Moving. First, I spoke to a gentleman named Shane. He was very kind and very knowledgeable as well as helpful. He personally came to our home at the time to actually look at our things to give us a proper estimate.
We have used R&R multiple times over the years, including this past week. They are not a national mover and I made my reservation and got an estimate with Paul, the owner. The guys that came out were friendly and I knew them from past moves. They moved a refrigerator and a very heavy armoire from our upstairs home along with all other furniture and boxes and got my parents settled into a beautiful assisted living facility.

John and his company were fantastic from start to finish! Jeremy and his crew were our drivers. We were updated when needed along the way. We were moving an inherited formal dining room set from CA to SC. When Jeremy and his team arrived with the truck, they handled everything with care and efficiency.
