In their own words
They are very unprofessional, not honoring contract knowing we had stairs. Demanding $250 more or they would dump piano in garage. Really this is az summer and holding piano hostage is so wrong. Shame on you!! Never ever again
I use this company a few times before this third time. Upon them moving my antique piano they broke the front kick plate off of my piano. After calling the owner he treated me as if I was not telling the truth and this is something that has never happened. That might be fine but at no time did they ever offer to at least help fix it or refund part of my $140 fee to move it 6 miles. I was hoping for a better outcome. I did not want to leave bad feedback!
HI Jenn - We typically refer technicians to fix antique pianos when old case parts are falling off. I would have been happy to refund part of the move or put you in touch with someone who could do the repair.
Your time and money is better spent on a business that value their customer and their concerns. They have incompetent and horrible customer service. I called “Safe and Sound Movers”, on 11/29/2021 at 10:11 AM, and spoke to an Elizabeth. She quoted me $190 and said they can move my piano 12/4. She called back at 11:37 AM, explained she was new and made an error and it be pick-up at 12/9, delivering at 12/10. So I went with them anyway (huge mistake) because I was given the best quote at $190.
Safe and Sound guaranteed they would a) not damage anything and b) it would be taken care of to my satisfaction if they did. Safe and Sound movers put about a ten inch dent/gouge in the side of my custom-made piano bench given me by my grandmother: my unprotected piano bench fell over from their movement of the truck while tightening down the piano body and it damaged about ten inches of its side. I was offered to take one of their benches or a paltry sum off my moving cost.
I Mrs Lacy - It sounds like the movers failed to notate the damage on the paperwork. We have a refinishing department and always take responsibility and cost of repairs. We carry more insurance than any other piano mover in town due to the extremely high value on some of the piano we transport.
I almost never post an on-line review of any company. This one asked for it. After the last minute cancellation of a move which had been scheduled for nearly two weeks, zero accommodation was made to reschedule in a manner which works for the CUSTOMER. Both I and the party receiving the piano cleared a whole day - and were then asked to clear another entire day. These folks might provide you with a three hour window the day before, but it won't be the three hours you requested or during which you are available.
HI Talia - We move over 200 pianos per month which translates to 400 stops that we need to squeeze into 3 hour windows. We do our best to accommodate our customers schedules but there are times when trucks go down, movers get sick, we get stuck in traffic and a host of other things that are out of…
Safe and Sound quoted $149 to move our regular size upright piano, which was described as a chest high upright piano, to the person we talked to on the phone. When the movers arrived, they looked at the piano and immediately said the price would be $199 because it was taller than they thought it would be. I told the mover that I've had experience with moving scams in the past, where the movers arrive and make up a reason why the price is now so much higher. I suggested they should honor the quote.
It’s sad that companies lack customer service and professionalism these days. This company claims they are 4 generations of movers but should perhaps have stopped after 3. They are completely unresponsive to numerous phone calls and don’t communicate with customers or their own drivers. Trying to communicate with driver he was completely rude and disrespectful and clearly hates his job. Go find a reputable company that still believes in traditional American values of customer loyalty and professionalism.
I called to see if I could get help moving my upright piano from my apartment to my new home and the lady who returned my call was not kind and friendly. Conversation went like this : May I speak to … I’m returning your call(serious tone) …I said I need to get my piano moved from my apartment to my new home …She asked is it on a single level or upstairs , and I said upstairs and she said we don’t do upstairs and hung up.

In their own words
We had our piano moved from Phoenix to Flagstaff with Safe and Sound Piano Movers. They are the best. It was extremely easy to get a quote, set up an appt and move the piano. Safe and Sound Piano Movers quickly communicated with us and answered our questions . It was a breath of fresh air to work with them. They showed up on time and worked confidently, efficiently, quickly and quietly. Everyone was professional and super nice. The piano arrived early Wednesday morning right on time and placed within minutes.
If you need a reliable, trustworthy, fairly priced moving company for your piano or similar, these are the folks to call. They moved a piano for us last month and we were so impressed with the process from start to finish. This is a family-run business with an incredible work ethic and excellence at what they do. Punctual, conscientious, professional and most of all, they were very gentle and kind with my elderly mother.
Thank you so much for the kind words. We are a family-owned business, and we want our customers to feel like family. We Love what we do and care about our customers
I’ve now had 1 baby grand piano moves 3 times and another one once and have been extremely pleased with Safe and Sound Piano Movers! They really know what they are doing and they do it very well and for a great price! Thank you!
We genuinely admire your kind words and are thrilled to hear about your positive experiences with Safe and Sound Piano Movers! Thank you for choosing us for your piano moving needs.
I’ve used it safe and sound piano three times now. Once in 2011, once in 2016, and again this last week. Every single time they’ve moved my piano they have been in perfect communication, on time, very genuinely friendly, and my piano has stayed in perfect condition during the moves in and out of the truck and in and out of the house. Hopefully this will be our last move, but if this piano ever has to leave the house, Safe and Sound piano movers will be moving her.
