horrible horrible horrible!!!! STAY CLEAR!!! this is a broker.. everything has went wrong from my move to increased random pricing, constant delays, lack of communication!!! i could go on and on and on!! so unprofessional. hard to get in contact. i was sleeping on my floor in a new state for three weeks!!! truly a nightmare. every time I spoke to them, it was a different date a different time finally the morning that they arrived. They were three hours late. The whole move has been exhausting.
Updated Review: Avoid at all costs! I recently moved my family from NY to FL and unfortunately chose Safeway based on some initial positive interactions. Alexis, my main point of contact during the initial stages, was responsive and seemed helpful. I made it clear that I was moving with my wife and two young children (a 3-year-old and a 7-month-old baby), and stressed that we needed our belongings ASAP.
Do not use this company. I used this company to move from California to Florida. The person taking your initial call will convince you that you will receive white glove treatment the entire time. What they don’t want you to know is they will not be able to tell you where your belongings are once they leave your home. Your belongings go to a warehouse. From there a driver is found. I tried calling anyone about the status and each time I was told we don’t know where your stuff is. That went on for over a month.
Edit: Reducing my review of Safeway from 5 to 1 stars. I’ve moved across the country 6 times, this was the shortest and most expensive move I’ve ever experienced. When the movers arrived at my apartment my estimate grew by over 60% from the quote the salesman provided. The salesman led me to believe that I was getting a direct move, which is what I was in the market for, but that was dishonest and the plan was to send my stuff to storage (not communicated with me).
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! If I can save even one person from this nightmare I would sleep happier at night! My experience with Safeway Moving was a total disaster! They tried to convince me that I will need more space than what was already noted for me during the QA call. When I refused and told them that I will just remove the stuff which would cause this, they instead of finalizing the date they told me to wait for the call while my pick was scheduled for tomorrow.

My belongings were pickup from my home in Maryland on 4/16/25 and I am still waiting for my belongings to arrive to Louisiana. Today is 5/8/25. I've been on hold on for 6 minutes now waiting from a representative to provide updates. Very poor customer service. The last two times I called Saveway Moving Company, the representatives stated that my belongings was in a warehouse in New Jersey, waiting on a driver. Very disappointed in this company!

Probably the worst moving experience I have ever had. Went with this company because they were not a broker although they use contract movers when moving out of area. The movers used were completely reckless and unprofessional. …
