We recently hired Smith Dray Lines to move us across the state, and we were absolutely disgusted with the whole experience. Firstly, the people who came had apparently never done a move before and seemed to have no idea what they were doing. I wanted to ask them if this was their first time moving someone, but soon discovered that they claimed to have been doing this for years. Secondly, they sent only 2 people, TWO PEOPLE, to move us.
This was my 35th move and I would call it the second worst of those 35. Almost every piece was damaged in someway. Sometimes I found it as they were unloading and I found others later. They said well we’ll just fill out a damage report. You damaged a dining room table from 1840. What price do you want me to put on my great great great grandmother‘s table? It went on and on. They complained about the heat. It was only 80°. They complained about my furniture.
Smith Dray Line helped me out with my International Move. Despite the fact they have excellent reviews a lot of them are for local moves. With my move, i was pointing out things to them that i did not want packed (lights for example as they would not work in Europe) and they packed them anyway. They packed multiple canvas paintings with no padding between them and they had inadequate packaging on another glass painting which arrived broken.
Over $3000 worth of furniture ruined and they offered $216. If you possibly can, find someone else to move your goods in Greenville SC.

From start to finish, Smith Dray Line was exceptional in its customer-focused service and attention to detail. From estimates and packing to two years of storage and finally the move into a new home, the entire staff provided THE MOST attentive, friendly and responsive service and care. Packing was thoughtful. careful and fast; moving and storage of furniture, boxes, antiques and art work was excellent with the highest priority placed on the good care and protection of my belongings.

The team of movers showed up promptly as planned. Before ever taking a step into the house or asking any questions, each mover came and introduced themselves to me. After the introductions, the team was on the MOVE. It was amazing to watch the speed that they worked at but, most importantly, handling every box and piece of furniture with such great care. The furniture was all wrapped very nicely to protect from damage. I never once thought that any of my stuff was at risk.
We were extremely pleased with all aspects of our interstate move with Smith Dray Lines. Leslie Snell, who coordinated our move, was most helpful, and answered our many questions about the move, thus helping us feel less anxious about the process. Graydon and Nick, who packed our belongings, worked with great care and amazing speed. They did in hours what would have taken us many days. Everything was carefully packed and arrived undamaged.

Smith Dray Line movers made light work of packing up a 4 bedroom house and moving me from SC to IN. Communication was continual and appreciated through the packing, loading and unloading process. Smith Dray Line movers delivered on their commitment. The packing crew packed intensely to make sure no piece would be broken. The loading crew, were polite and worked together to get half the semi loaded.
