Absolutely horrible experience with Atlas / Smith Dray Line out of Rock Hill, SC. I’ve never seen such disorganization and lack of accountability from a moving company. First off, I didn’t even have that much to move — yet a crew of 4–5 movers took over 14 hours to complete the job. That’s outrageous and completely unjustifiable. Then, to make matters worse, one of the movers failed to document that I pointed out a missing TV and still had me sign the paperwork anyway.
Smith Day Line was prompt and the drivers were courteous. We had a local move, less than 25 miles. However, they damaged a lot of my furniture. They broke my mirrored dresser, completely destroyed an antique side table, ruined a custom nightstand, banged up my footboard to our bed and put a hole in the back of my loveseat. When I explained the damage to the driver he acted like it wasn’t a big deal, and said to call the office on Monday. They paid a whopping $204.00 for all of this damage.
I used their online contact form to get pricing on my move. I almost immediately received an email telling me that someone would be getting in touch with me. After waiting several days for that to happen, I created a review online of my experience. The next day I received an apology email asking me to provide moving details which I did. I received another email telling me that someone from their Rock Hill office would reach out to me the next day.... I'm still waiting....
UPDATE: it's two years later and we are just moving out of our storage unit which the crew insisted on loading without us. The damage continues. My antique desktop is cracked and ripped from the hinges. It was not treated carefully and this …
