Smooth Move really deserves zero stars. I scheduled an appointment with the owner of the company, Reid to come out and give me an estimate on our upcoming move. On the day of that SCHEDULED appointment, he showed up an hour late and was extremely pushy with me, urging me to use them. He came off very disrespectful and rude. After looking at everything we had to move and agreeing on a date, he said he would send me an estimate over. I waited 2 days and still heard nothing from him.

Not So Smooth On Friday June 19, 2026 Smooth Move moved my belongings from a two bedroom apartment on Main Street one block away to an apartment on White Street for the tune of $1448.00 including tip. That comes to around $1.60 a foot or $8,448 a mile. Pretty expensive, do you agree? For this price your quality of service are likely to be high.

Basic facts: - This company was supposed to deliver EVERYTHING in one room. They did not. They “forgot” multiple items in the truck. - This company overcharged me 100s of dollars for the service based on our contract. - I was the one who discovered the over charge. At this point. I have not received all of the items that were “forgotten” and I have not received remittance for the over charge. Just the facts. Be very careful when selecting any company for these types of services.

Absolutely awful! Movers did not come into the house with masks on, but are concerned about getting COVID-19 because they backed out last minute even when the customer has been cleared of COVID-19 by a doctor for weeks. If they are so concerned about getting sick, they should have been clear before accepting the job and wear a N95 respirator while working anyways. Website COVID statement has nothing mentioned about being relieved of COVID-19 for a month before they will come into a house.
The men from this company banged every piece of furnature into a wall or doorway. The boxes are packed horrifically and we can't find half our stuff. They broke a family heirloom and still haven't come to fix the scratches in the furniture or compensated us for the broken heirloom. NEVER AGAIN will we use them.

They don’t follow up on damage. They are unresponsive. They will say whatever they think you want to get your business and then just NOT honor it. We’ve moved from a house to temporary housing to another house. Not one leg of this move has gone smoothly.

We used Smooth Move - Rock Hill for a local move. Reid gave us a very satisfactory quote and assured our move would be handled with care and the team would arrive on time. On the day of the move, the three man crew arrived within the promised window and got started quickly. All three gentlemen were very polite and respectful of my home. My furniture was disassembled, padded, wrapped and load on the truck in a timely fashion.

We have used Smooth Move several times and have never been disappointed. This time was no exception. I had a relatively small and easy move. No furniture, everything pre-packed in about 60-70 storage bins. But it was long-distance. That made it tricky because other movers either wouldn't touch it ("too small" ) OR they applied their "minimum" to my quote. Reid was amazing and worked with me to make this doable. Everything was loaded in the window when they said it would be ... and delivered in the window they promised as well. Raekwon and Keon were the best-est of the best!

My movers were timely, kind, and great problem solvers! They were even prepared for the few things I had forgotten to do (like wrap my mirror in a moving blanket and cardboard). The act of moving is such a daunting task, but Smooth Move took that weight off my shoulders and got me into my new space with as least chaos as possible and I am so grateful!
