Sparta Movers

Absolutely TERRIBLE company to deal with. Use Red Mile Movers!! The movers were inefficient, rude and damaged and ruined our furniture. It took three movers more than 8 hours to load one truck. The branch manager I dealt with was dishonest and did not honour his word. Sparta promised us that they would take care of our ruined furniture and give us a discount on our move, but that we had to pay the invoice before they could process the damage claim.

Used them for a move to Vancouver and absolutely would not recommend them to anyone else. They severely underquoted us on weight, despite a virtual and in-person site visit. Had to unexpectedly use two trucks to ship our stuff, again despite two visits, and the second truck didn’t arrive for ten days. When our stuff finally arrived, there were multiple boxes missing that still haven’t been found.

I went with Sparta from a flyer that came in and after some quotes they seemed reasonable, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. Adam, the sales person was thorough and answered my questions as the date become nearer. I’m moving from a 2 bedroom, apartment on the second floor with the unit to the end of the hall. Three men came to make the move. I would have assumed 3 hours to move out would be adequate and 3 hours to move into a 2 story condo would be about right as well.

Would not recommend these guys. Close to being ok but missed a few very important things: First, the customer service person was great to deal with. So there are no complaints there. Movers first showed up, one of the movers smelled of marijuana. I realize its legal, but this is a safety thing if he's high. I should have told him not to come onto my property. That's my fault. not sure if he was smoking it then too, but he was smoking somthing from a vape. Another worker showed up without work gloves in -20 day.

We used them a little under 4 weeks ago. 3 movers and 26 foot truck. Summary: Will NOT recommend. Read on for more info. PROS - willing to beat other competitor prices - willing to accommodate our last minute change in schedule due to delayed reno work - Estimator that came out was friendly and personable and assured us that he will also be the one moving us. - Supplied wardrobe boxes and mattress covers - 15min pricing CONS - Estimated cargo space was way off.

Unfortunately my experience with them was quiet disappointing. After giving them a month to assess the situation I am now writing this review. 1. They stole over $1,000 from me. I’m sure they thought they were only taking my Prada glasses but it was my tip box. To be exact they were able to take $1,135. I set it aside to move the morning of but with them showing up with a smaller van, I decided to make some runs with my things in my car while my dad stayed behind. It was in my nightstand and I never saw it again.

Affordable rate. Movers were polite but seemed put off by every little thing after I told them It could unfortunately not be accommodated that they wanted to start an hour earlier then scheduled time. Seemed exceptionally put off that there were 3 flights of stairs. Movers seemed very unmotivated to work. I think one of the workers wasn't even a real employee, just some guy who was helping out. It took them 4 hours to load the truck (tiny 2 bedroom apartment).

I recommended this company for my mom to help her move out, I had used them before and they were fantastic, however this was not her experience. The time they were supposed to show up only one mover showed up. She then helped the mover move the stuff until the other mover came finally (over an hour late). She is paying by the hour so she wanted to make sure things were moving along. They were not able to remove the bed (although a different company the next day did it within minutes).
