Should be ZERO stars. Richard Gonzales, the onsite manager is dishonest and misrepresented the 24-hour video camera surveillance, which he knew did not provide coverage for all the units, including mine which was broken into. He also negligently allowed people to remain on the premises through the night and negligently failed to file the proper paperwork for our protection plan coverage which was supposed to protect us against loss for the theft that occurred.
In all fairness, this place is an accident waiting to happen. There were homeless people living at the facility, I m sure because I would see the same people out on the street during the day. I'd also see evidence of the pedestrian entry/exit being propped open. I addressed the personal safety and property issue with management and was ignored. The last straw came when I happened to be picking up some items after hours and witnessed a heavily tattooed man with bolt cutters cutting the lock off a unit.
I have been renting from them for over a year now and i have two units with them, I received a called 9/2/2023 about paying my for my unit so i called back to try and pay and the individual told me no not to worry about it and that I’m set up for auto pay on the 9th, so now the 12th rolls around and the company emails me letting me know that i have late fees on my account now because my card had an expired date on it, so instead of calling me back to get the corrected exp date on my new card they send me an email…

Scam! Ordered online. No one at the office next day and no one will answer phone calls. New customer voicemail box is full. My card has been charged and I can not get a hold of this company. Do not trust this facility!!

Excellent Service and Security Today I chose to rent a storage unit and the experience has been excellent. The facilities are clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated. I really appreciate that they have security cameras and controlled access, which gives me peace of mind when leaving my belongings. The rental process was quick and easy, with very competitive prices and no complicated paperwork. In addition, the staff has always been very friendly and willing to help with any questions or needs.

I applaud the customer service at this location; Lourdes has made the process for me exceptionally smooth. I’m going through a very hard time and separation and she’s made this part of it all easy on me. She’s been very accommodating and has amazing communication. My family has been using this storage outlet off and on since it’s been open. Currently my father and brother have units and now I do too. Lourdes has met our needs and requests without any hesitation!

Jared, Paul and Maria are the best managers at Storage Outlet Escondido, they are conscientious and do everything they can to accommodate me as a tenant. These last few years stemming from the pandemic have been difficult financially, was laid off and have been trying not to give up hope as I got a new job. They were kind and considerate, which means so much during times like these. If you need a place to store your belongings, Storage Outlet is safe, clean and secure.
