Summit Moving and Storage - Akron Movers

The worst moving service ever! We had 7 guys and they still dropped things. They went to their car and got high on our time. We are missing things and things were broken and the company is not paying our claim for items that we didn't make the movers write down. I watched them drop items and tried to say it wasn't there fault. They broke a lamp because they piled it in with all of the tools in there pack box items.

I reached out to Summit Moving & Storage as the last of 4 different moving companies I wanted a consultation for. I was put in touch with a representative named David, who did my estimate. After asking me the standard questions for a move, David keeps me on the phone for maybe 5 minutes trying to sell me insurance, plate protectors, boxes with padding, etc. I had to directly ask him twice to get the quote amount.

ABYSMAL. Sub contracted out our move to clearly fairly in experienced movers, nice enough young guys, polite just limited experience. Showed up with a small U-Haul and sprinter van when my move was quoted for 2 large moving trucks. Damaged and broke two stair treads in our brand new house, tracked mud EVERYWHERE that required professional cleaning, damaged a very expensive dresser, left behind a truckload full of stuff that was named and identified in our quote by their move consultant, and the damage goes on as…

We hired Summit Moving of Akron OH to go from Twinsburg to Uniontown OH on Dec 14, 2020. Of the three movers I have used in my life, Summit was unequivocally the worst. 1. They showed up 1 hour late (9:51am actual versus 9:00 am plan) because they had to unload one of the two trucks they used. This was big as everyone was talking about the Browns Ravens game that night. Note: our move was quoted as 8 hrs but some how they got done in 7 for the same stopping time. 2.

A family member just used Summit Moving and Storage to move from.her apartment to a house. She had used Corlett for years, tried the phone numbers on line, left messages, but got no response, so she ended up with Summit out of akron who is somehow connected to Corlett. He had to pay a fuel surcharge because they were moving her in Cleveland. Let's just say this company is not Corlett. They arrived on time, but they rushed the entire time to finish within their budgeted time. They scratched the dining room table.

So this is my review. I only has 2 dressers, a bed, boxspring, nightstand, file cabinet, keyboard at my house. These items were loaded effortlessly and great. My final piece of furniture was a 90 inch flexsteel queen sleeper. My aunt only used this couch less than 10 times. The two movers couldn’t get the couch out and even called a third person to help. They couldn’t get it out of her small home. In the process a light fixture fell, hole in the wall, and damaged upholstery.

Okay, so I've been waiting to write this review until they resolved the issue, but apparently that isn't going to happen. I used summit moving and storage for my move in MAY of 2022. During the move, the movers broke an antique corner cabinet that belonged to my grandmother. This happened because one of the movers thought he could carry it up 3 flights of stairs by himself on his hip... Of course the cabinet shattered.

I used Summit Moving and Storage a few months ago and it was not a good experience. The weather wasn't ideal, it was sleeting and the lawns at the old house and the new house were muddy, but the Summit team made very little effort to lay down cardboard and/or moving blankets to help avoid tracking mud into the house. One of the team members spent the first 20mins in the bathroom upon arrival. They tracked mud throughout the new house.
