In their own words
I contracted the Student Movers Service to load a truck with all of my packed household goods for an interstate move. I had purchased straps for them to use to secure the items. They used only 1, despite my wife and I voicing concerns about straps not being used. Their reason being that "they had never seen a truck like ours before".
Hey thecaptain64, unfortunately after much communication we were unable to resolve your issue in a way that you thought was acceptable and conversations ended at that. Your move was extremely long distance and your items were driven by a 3rd party company in a shared transit vehicle that you hired…
My mother and grandmother hired this company to load U-Haul trucks and a trailer, they hired 4 guys for 4 hours, however 1 of them was an hour and a half late and they still billed as if he were there not to mention they also charged my mother for them going over the time with was due to the guy being an hour and a half late for work. They spent more time complaining how heavy furniture was than just loading it when it only took two high school kids to unload and put in the house for my mother.
Owner's/ founders Chris and Thomas did not work with me on loss. Even after admitting they messed up. My move was booked weeks in advance. This being said I ended up with inexperienced movers from what owner said was because they had changed many moves to Sunday due to Clemson game on Saturday. Everything was packed and ready to be loaded on relo cube. The boys had no idea where to begin. They had never loaded a cube.
My belongings were thrown in with no care...so much wasted space that it took additional trucks. I specifically told the guys to NOT take paint or flooring that was to be left at previous rental, not only did they take it, the paint was thrown on top which spilled out onto some of my things. I've had several pieces damaged due to the way it was stacked and not covered. I hired 4 guys to be at site at 9 am...one didn't show for an hour and a half making time run over which cost me more.
We used them to load a trailer for a cross country move. We were very disappointed with how they piled our stuff but they claimed to know what they were doing. We made the mistake by helping them with the loading process by putting boxes on the back of the truck and then they claimed it was our fault that most of our stuff was scratched and smashed. They might be good for short moves but do not use them for distance moving. They will blame the trucking company for most of the damage.
Just don’t waste your money. The movers themselves have good intentions but do not have the experience to take care and move things without scrapping, dragging, breaking. I hired 2 movers for 2 hours and the job was not done and I have to hire more movers to finish. They moved SO slow without consideration of time and at one point one guy went MIA. Really disappointing.

In their own words
My husband and I rented a Penske and moved from San Antonio to Charlotte. We needed help moving our stuff off the truck and into the house. Thomas Dickinson, Samuel Goldman, and Tyler Needham were our movers. They were punctual and did a quick, yet careful job of getting everything unloaded. I also appreciated they took direction well regarding where to place the furniture and read the box labels to make sure the boxes were placed in the proper rooms.
I cannot recommend Undergrads Moving highly enough. They moved us from our home into a temporary storage unit. The booking process was super easy. I rented a UHaul and Undergrads supplied movers at an incredibly reasonable rate. The movers were prompt and worked diligently the entire time. They were super careful with our belongings. They wrapped our furniture in blankets and cellophane. They were very respectful and considerate of our home and our things.
Thank you so much for the kind words and review, Penny! We are delighted you had such a wonderful experience with us. Our guys strive to achieve the highest levels of professionalism, consideration, and respect to our customers.
I had a fantastic last-minute experience with this moving company and couldn’t be more impressed. My movers, Tanner Holian and Will Marriott, were outstanding from start to finish. They communicated proactively, calling to let me know there was traffic and that they would arrive just a few minutes after 2:00 PM—which I really appreciated and had no issue with at all. Once they arrived, they got straight to work and emptied both my U-Haul and truck in about an hour and a half, which was incredibly efficient.
I am a Property Manager in Clemson, SC. I used them for my unpacking of items when I moved to Clemson from Portland in early May to relocate for this position and had an outstanding experience. Recently, I had a major flood on the property - I had made a reservation with "All My Sons" moving company to help residents move from the affected building. The next day "All My Sons" did not show and upon my phone call after they had not shown up at their scheduled time, they said that I had never made a reservation.
Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate that so much. Thank you for choosing Student Movers. We look forward to working with you in the future.
