Pros: - The move went reasonably well - The movers were friendly and honest - The price was also reasonable Cons: - The movers where about an hour or so late, no one called me to let me know - One of my brand new pieces of wood furniture got a few noticeable dents/scratched in it. The workers admitted to it as I pointed it out. They told me to just sign their paperwork saying there was some damage, and I did that. Today I got an email from them about the "Claims" process.
We moved Mr. Peterson in May 2015, on a Saturday. We gave an estimate for a four man crew of $1163. The actual charge was $67 more, $1230. One item received minor damage, and we had a repair service come to the house and fix it to their … More
I would like to start with that I did still tip all of the movers both days of my scheduled one day move. I also provided lunch, ample snacks including chips and fresh fruit, as well as bottled water and propel. I carried items and loaded my personal truck throughout the entire process. Not because I had to, but because I am a capable and kind human. This was supposed to be a one day move and became a two day move.
Gosh. We thought this was resolved to your satisfaction at the time of the move. Thank you for being kind and considerate of our movers. Our experience was that you were not ready on move day. Lots of unpacked items, and the access to your … More
UPDATE: Our move occurred mid-June. After initially posting a review, TM got much more cooperative. They paid someone to come out and repair our furniture. He did a great job. Around Halloween we finally got our floor fixed. Now they have asked me to post an update. It's true that after 4.5 months they finally fixed everything they could. However some things (lost jewelry, expensive vacuum, broken glasses, etc) will never be fixed or replaced.
We are very sorry this happened and we apologized many times to Christine and her husband. We also did everything we could to make it right. The first we heard there were problems with the move was about 10pm our time on the day of … More
Unfortunately I can’t give more than 1 star. The person that packed the kitchen was totally useless and forgot two full cabinets of dishes to pack. He was on the phone constantly discussing problems with wife/ girlfriend. Jessie quoted us a per hour price which is standard for in town moves. He told us that the final price should only differ by a few dollars more or less. Well the final price was $1400 more than quoted. I agreed to $500 which was still not acceptable. They broke a 60” tv.
Thank you for talking with me recently about your move. I apologize again for the inappropriate phone calls by our kitchen packer, and for his missing two cabinets. That should not have happened. I am glad to hear that his packing turned … More
Beware of these guys. Before the move they get you to buy a policy to insure your goods. When they break stuff during the move they charge the breakage costs against “your” insurance, not theirs, and they deduct $150 from your payment. So basically they take no responsibility for your property. What a scam! We couldn’t find my electric drill so I purchased another one, $130. Today when getting out the Christmas decorations we found the drill in one of the boxes. I’m out $130. What kind of mover does that?
I hope you will give us a call, and ask for me, Doug, the general manager. It seems there is some misunderstanding about how cargo coverage options work for moving. Sorry for any stress this may have caused.
This is from 5 years ago leaving Durham. NC; the worst move we ever had. Awful. Just one example: 10 of the largest most precious pieces of glassware we owned were simply stacked in a box. No paper or padding of any kind. Of course we only …
Just left a message asking this customer to give us a call. We are sorry for any damage or poor performance on our part. Our records do not show there was any damage or a claim made on this move. The move occurred in 2013. We hope for the opportunity to find our more.
Had a very disappointing experience with this company representitve. He promised things when we spoke over the phone but then didn't honer the agreement we had. I won't recommend doing business with this company.
I think you may have the wrong company. We have no record of working with you. Perhaps the issue you are reporting happened during an initial phone call with one of our staff members. If so, I would like to discuss that interaction with … More

In their own words
I worked with Truckin’ Movers for my local move from Durham to Raleigh and cannot recommend them enough! Jeff made everything easy to understand and was quick with the communication. Chris L, Alfonso, and Johntez arrived on time, handled everything with care, and were incredibly kind, professional, and quick! Truly a lovely team and would gladly work with them again.
Thank you Dana! We have been providing a five star local moving and storage service since 1976, almost 50 years now. Please recommend us with confidence. jeff, Chris, Alfonso, Johntez and all the other movers on our team are here to serve.
Since opening my window coverings business a few years ago, I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know other business owners in the NC Triangle. Between the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties, Wake Up Wednesdays in Pittsboro, and my weekly Bull City Business Leaders BNI meetings in Durham, I’ve had the chance to meet a lot of great people. Over the past year and a half, I’ve come to know, like, and trust Doug Carlton of Truckin Movers.
Thank you Tom! Building community is a core value at Truckin' Movers, and we love putting people first. In fact our number one core value is Empowerment. We believe that we are all in this together, and together we all grow and prosper. We … More
I'd give them about a 117 on a 0 to 100 scale. A 2,000-mile move for us. Our point person, Brad, was just great....shoulder to shoulder every step of the way. It never occurred to me to use a local mover when we were moving from Arizona to Chapel Hill....Wow! Our relator recommended Truckin' and it was a winner. Their crew chief was there to pack us up....and to unpack us. They arrived when they said they would; they delivered when they said they would.
Thank you Gayle. Fifty years ago we entered the moving industry to improve the interstate moving service available to the public for moves like yours. Back then the government only allowed 19 companies to move coast to coast, and they all had to charge exactly the same rates.
I have finally recovered from moving my family across country. The easiest part was the actual moving because of Truckin' Movers. From the beginning of the process to the end, I was impressed and delighted at their professionalism and their systems! They have learned all the lessons and know exactly how to making packing and moving as stress free as possible. They moved my 4 person sauna and my SUV as well! Terrific communication the entire time and incredible, kind, well priced service!
Thank you Jen. It has been an honor moving you and the family across the country. This is what Triuckin' Movers was born to do, cross-country moving. I love the picture of your sauna, and yes we did move it in one piece. Thanks again for trusting us. I hope to visit you one day.
