Two Men and a Truck Moving and Storage

I hired Two Men in 2021 for a local GR move. The guys did great so I didn’t hesitate to hire them again when I needed moving help in May 2023. I trusted the guys knew what they were doing but they did a TERRIBLE job packing up my U-Haul U-Box. I had carefully labeled and sorted my boxes by like size and weight. But the guys decided they didn’t need to put the HEAVY boxes on the bottom. Boxes and other items packed and loaded sideways. I wish that I had not trusted the guys and actually supervised them myself.

UPDATE 5 days later: do NOT let Carter and Madgi into your homes. not only are they completely incompetent as movers, one or both are also thieves. My husband had recently rolled the coins from his coin jar and there were ziplock bags of rolled quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies in a bowl on the island. today I went back to the house for the first time since the disastrous move and discovered the bag of quarters--$54 worth--was gone.

*** Wanted to edit this in response to the comment from the company. The shed in question was already damaged which I shared with them while booking. I did not cancel this move because it was “falling apart” I cancelled because the movers that were onsite shared that it was going to take 4 more movers and we would have to wait for them. The cost alone for all of this would have been in the thousands. I was originally quote $300-$400. In addition the base of the shed was never moved.

We hired Two Men and a Truck to pack our two ABF freight trailers to move 1000 miles. We did this exact same move with the same items one year ago. The moving company we used (a local one in Mississippi) did an excellent job planning and executing so that we only used one and a half trucks as planned. Unfortunately, Two Men and a Truck did not efficiently plan and by the time they packed our second truck they started just piling things in with no organization.

First of all know that each office independently charges what they want, there is no symmetry as far as rates and what's promised at one office may not be the same as what is charged at another. One office quoted a specific rate and we decided on them it was because it was about the same from competition. We had called Wyoming office and were quoted a number we were happy to live with. We decided to utilize the Rockford franchise and were surprised to see final bill at twice what were quoted.

Horrible experience and terrible management. Buyer beware! I had them move a few heavy items and they did not even wrap the items like they advertise. An aquarium stand was not secured properly and caused a bunch of marks and scratches. Frames were broke on both aquariums from not properly securing and loading and unloading. Then they left the aquariums in my front lawn instead of in my house which is not what was agreed upon. Forceful on signing documents and no recovery on damaged items. Movers who DON’T CARE.

We hired this company for a full service same city move. Not only did they fail to pack all of our things they failed to move them. They didn't even tell us they left our things behind until we asked. The "top dog" Beju made it clear they were done with our move and accused me of mistreating his movers. We spent 8 hours collecting and moving all of the things they left behind. We paid way too much money for horrible, misrepresented service.

moved in June. Damaged furniture. still waiting THREE months later for furniture to be repaired and returned to me. No one there actually cares once you pay. Major communication run arounds. two different stories told by repair person and local management. Please dont respond with call the manager... I have done that several times. "sorry, it takes time" only takes you so far.
