2 Burley Men Moving Calgary

We used 2 Burley Men Moving Ltd. to move us from Kelowna BC to High River AB. The 2 young men who loaded our 2 bedroom condo in Kelowna were nice enough but it took them over 9 hours to load our furniture which we had boxed and ready to go, aside from the larger pieces. To hurry them along myself and my husband helped them load and it still took over 9 hours. Our furniture was put in storage for a couple of weeks. The 2 guys who moved our furniture to High River were excellent.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this company to move. Not only was this the worst moving experience it was the worst experience I have ever had with any company. If you read all the 1 star reviews they are all the same. Over charged and terrible communication with zero accountability. We hired them for our move from AB to BC and they overcharged us thousands of dollars from what we were quoted.

Be Careful if you want to Use: We had a small move from Victoria to Calgary and they seemed to be affordable; $750 for the first 1000 lb, $0.75 per lb after than plus weigh scale charges around $75 plus GST, seem reasonable. The complaints I have: 1.0 They would not give us a time to pick up the cargo but gave us a two day window. They never called us back with a day so a time was out of the question, despite calling them numerous times a few days before and the day of the pickup window.

Sadly the experience we had with this moving company has a lot to be desired!! At first contact everything was going according to plan as I scheduled my mothers move 2.5 months ahead of time, then 1 week before the move date I was asked to change the load date to the Saturday instead of the Friday, as this was a long distance move and a matter of flight schedules the load date could not be changed. So I thought it was good to be left at that.

Overview: -Zero communication -False information -Seemingly slipshod trucks -No regard for employee safety -No follow up The Story: - Booked for 9am pickup, no show. Called at 10am. "they'll be there". Called again at 11am. "Manager will call you". 11:45 "truck had a flat tire, will be there soon". At this point I figure ok, well, bad luck but communication would've been nice? That was just the beginning though.

My boyfriend and I had an absolute terrible experience with this company, moving from Calgary to Penticton BC. When we booked an appointment with them we requested a specific time and date, as we lived in an apartment in downtown Calgary where you have a 3hr window to reserve the elevator. They showed up 7hrs late with little to no communication as to what was going on. We luckily were able to convince our apartment management to let us move the time later, otherwise we would have been without an elevator.

We moved on June 10, 2020. We hired 3 guys with the truck. We were told if we have 3 guys instead on 2, there would then be insurance for moving exercise equipment (treadmill and elliptical). We knew this equipment was heavy and awkward so went with the 3 guys. The guys did not use any straps to help with weight, therefore backed into the post at bottom of stairs and pulled apart the hand railing on our newly renovated home. There was other minor damage (drywall repairs) which are expected.

DO NOT USE TWO BURLEY MEN FOR YOUR MOVE. We regret booking this company. We were quoted $150/hour for 2 movers. A man who worked for the company showed up with his inexperienced wife (she self-proclaimed that she had never done this work before and had no prior experience). It was going fine when they were moving the furniture out of our condo and storage unit. But we ran into issues when trying to move the furniture into our new home.
