Calgary Moving Company - AMJ

I used AMJ to move 2 crates of items from Ontario to Alberta. The rep I was working with in Ontario was very friendly, helpful and made me feel confident in their services but unfortunately, my experience was very negative once my items were delivered. ** I’m updating my review as AMJ Calgary reached out to try and resolve the issue as a result of my negative review.

Paid $30,200 to have house removal from AB to NS. Collection: crew late and without functioning technology to record the possessions digitally as is the norm. Took 10 hours as a result. Crew did not wear masks at all. Delivery: despite giving 2 months notice for delivery date, AMJ recorded the wrong date. Result was wasted work vacation time. Unacceptable amount of damaged items. One crate entirely missing from delayed delivery meaning second delivery date two days later.

STEER CLEAR AND READ OTHERS REVIEWS I have used a couple of different moving companies when I moved from the uk to Canada and then back again. Here's a few things you should know! The shipping company will give you a quote, and even if your weight and size ends up being under that figure that they originally gave you, they will not tell you they will just say you "met the right amount" that they quoted you for, obviously, if you are over, they will let you know and charge you more.

The packers were lovely but the company administrators badly let us down, starting on removal day when we politely asked when we'd receive a corrected copy of amended details; response was "we work on trust; if you don't trust us, I'll pull the team out of the job right now" -- that felt an unreasonable over reaction to our polite and reasonable question. Our buyer was moving in 48 hours later so we were kind of stuck.

***EDIT*** It has been 1 week since my initial review when they gave their standard "we are sorry" response to this review, and then have NOT followed up at all. I have emailed them at their supplied email address below, with no response. Which is what I expected given their track record. Original review below: We moved cross country in February and used AMJ Campbell as our moving company. The process on the beginning of our journey was good, but very quickly fell apart once we reached our destination.

We hired AMJ Calgary for our move from Canada to Europe (Nov.2025) and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The cost to move our household items and a few vehicles was over $27,000. Our “package” included pickup from our home and delivery to our new location. However, we still had to pick up several vehicles ourselves. I don’t understand why we paid for a full-service package but did not receive the full service we were promised. The only positive part of our experience was at the beginning.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with AMJ Calgary. The communication — especially with Mona — was beyond frustrating. We were told one thing on the phone and then received completely different information afterward. This wasn’t a one-time misunderstanding — it happened repeatedly. Promises were made and then changed or denied later. It felt disorganized at best and misleading at worst. For the amount of money we paid, the price-to-performance ratio is simply not acceptable.

I had the VERY unfortunate opportunity of crossing paths with John and Susan. My move was a total disaster with them and I have moved several of times so know what to expect when hiring professional movers...which these people definitely are not. So much MAJOR damage to dozens of items which they said they would pay for and never did, but rather chose to ignore my email requests and repeated phone calls. Most of the damage was due to VERY poor and disorganized packing with insufficient packing materials.
