Poor planning, delays, and damaged mattress I’ve moved to 13 different cities and have never experienced issues like this with a "professional" moving company. What should have been a straightforward 2BR + office local move (~9 miles) turned into a stressful multi-day process due to poor planning and coordination. Specialty packing materials discussed in advance for high-value framed jerseys were not prepared ahead of time, creating significant delays and forcing time-consuming on-site workarounds.

Worst experience ever and still ongoing! Their negligence in packing our home resulted in several thousand dollars in damages they are refusing the pay for. They are blaming their inability to properly pack, wrap, & secure our goods on the trucking company that hauled our items. The trucking company was not responsible for wrapping our beige furniture to avoid grease stains, wrapping our mattress to avoid stains, packing oil & wax melts on top of appliances without properly sealing things causing damage; the list…

Called and made an appt for a packing/moving estimate. Called to reschedule for another date/time. Someone from the company called me to reschedule again. On the date/time they rescheduled for, nobody showed up nor called. I called several times with no answer, then left a vmail canceling the entire thing. The same person who called to reschedule told me AT THAT TIME that they'd canceled my move due to lack of movers and moving trucks. NOBODY told me this ahead of time.

This is the second time I used 87 Movers. I am sorry to say I was not happy with this second move on 3/19/24. This company states support for Seniors and yet at the end of my move I was hit with a 1200 bill. This was not in my budget and was no where near the amount paid to them on my first move which was around 700/800.00. I talked with the Owner, Tony and expressed my concern. He told me that he had given me a 400.00 discount. I asked him; Is this the way you treat repeat customers who are Sr. Citzens?

UPDATE: Kathy’s frantic reply is a fabrication to hide unauthorized billing. Tony presents himself as friendly, but it is a disingenuous act. He is disorganized, clueless, and his walkthrough in hindsight was a total waste of time. I explicitly laid out the exact, minimal items being moved (2 bedrooms, NO couch or living room sets) and explained the rest will go to consignment or be hauled by me in multiple carloads. He saw this tiny inventory, called Kathy, and instructed her to charge the 2-hour minimum.

We used this service because last year we used a 3rd party service, and picked 87 Movers😊,we moved from out of town and needed someone to unload the pod. They did a great job. So when we were ready to move locally, we called them directly. Tony said that he appreciated us calling them back and he would take very good care of us. BUT, I don’t know what happened because the two nice young men that came to our home Definitely did not know what they were doing and not prepared for the job 😞.

Had I read the reviews on Yelp first, where the real unfiltered experiences are posted, I would have never hired this company. I went through the reviews here in hindsight but let me summarize the key things for you so you don't miss the red flags like I did: there is a consistent theme of disorganization, damaged valuables, outright lying, and a complete refusal to take responsibility. Save yourself the headache and skip this company. They cause far too many issues and refuse to work with you to resolve them.

BILLION NEGATIVE STARS. Daniel and the other lazy guy showed up late and didn't have tools except for a hand cart that someone disposed of.....scratched my new wood floors.They couldn't pick up the furniture and I unloaded most of the POD myself. I am over 60 and weigh 102 lbs. The name unknown was sweating and complaining. My Cabinet installer had to help them with the dining room table, bench and a number of other items. THIS WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.
