I would never hire Special Touch Movers again. This was one of the most disappointing moving experiences we have ever had. The owner originally quoted us approximately $575 total: two workers at $65 per hour, a maximum of three hours, $165 for a 15–20 ft. truck, and $20 for moving blankets. This was for a small one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment under 680 square feet with minimal furniture. The truck was parked directly outside the apartment.
I hired this company on August 15, 2025, to move items from a storage unit onto a truck. Only one mover was initially present, so I had to wait for his partner to arrive. During the move, the lead mover was engrossed in a heated phone conversation—so intense that he halted all work and stormed outside to continue arguing. Meanwhile, his colleague stood in the truck, singing and doing nothing productive. When I called the owner and/or manager, Desi Davis, the call went to voicemail.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience these past 2 days. In the weeks leading up to our move, communication was prompt. We contracted for 2 days and 4 men. On both days the gentlemen arrived on time. They were polite, helpful, and HARD WORKING! Their work ethic was incredible! I NEVER saw anyone standing around or even resting! They worked hard and in the heat…never slowing down or complaining. By the second day, they felt like family.
I cant say enough good things about this moving company! They were recommended to me by an apartment manager who had used them in the past and I am truly thankful for it! They were professional, courteous, on time, careful, packed tightly to fit the truck and all at a VERY reasonable price! You will not be disappointed!!
I initially booked A Special Touch Moving Co. and Mr. Desi Davis called within an hour of placing the order to coordinate unload times. Unfortunately, my moving date was moved up and AST was closed on the day I needed. Mr. Davis called to confirm this but said if I got into a bind, to please let him know. Three moving companies later, I finally scheduled an unload at 5 pm. A different moving company called at 3:40 pm that day and said they wouldn't be coming.
I cannot say enough great things about this company. From the planning stages, the manager was so professional and patient with my million questions, and was gladly available after hours. The movers, Joe, Chris, Derrick & Shaq, introduced themselves on arrival, and were very courteous. Just saying yes ma'am, no ma'am and thank you blew me away in today's world, but they were also very kind and supportive with each other. The teamwork, cooperation, and communication with us and with each other was stellar.
