A1 Martinez Movers

I hired A-1 Martinez Movers to move an upright piano. They confirmed the job and a 5–6 PM window — I didn’t force that time; they offered and agreed to it. After I drove out based on that confirmation, they cancelled last-minute, then arrived nearly 30 minutes late the next morning. During the second visit one of the drivers made an inappropriate comment to my wife while she was outside alone. Whatever he meant, it was unprofessional and made her uncomfortable.

My experience was very disappointing. Contracted the company to help move 1 office space (minimal items) the largest item i had was "1" computer desk. I left my college son in charge of opening the office to get them to load. After 3 hours I called and asked how far they were and what was taking them so long to arrive to the destination address (i did not have many items).

I paid $719 for moving services that started at 9 am till almost 5pm. The men who worked were very slow and took their time and would take breaks and would continue working when we walked by them. On top of this my furniture was damaged in the moving process. My walls in my new house were scuffed and they left marks and did not care. They even took apart my desk and assembled wrong, leaving a huge chunk out of the top of my desk with no mention of doing so till I found out after the fact.

Do not spend your hard-earned money on them. I specifically asked the owner if they will use plastic wrap on the furniture (which keeps the upholstery clean and drawers from coming out), he said, yes, we are a professional company. He lied. When the movers arrived and they started moving furniture, I asked where the plastic wrap was? The guy said he forgot to bring it. Excuse me!? And he said it very nonchalantly as if it was no big deal. Judging by his response, I'm quite sure they NEVER use it.

Beware. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was told over the phone it works take 3 to 4 hours to move my 1500 sq ft house 2 miles down the street with 3 guys. We had all boxes in the garage and all furniture disassembled, with very little furniture. They moved very slowly and one of them stood around waiting to be told what to take to the truck next. I spoke with the owner several times throughout the day asking why was it taking then so long? He was useless, just trying to collect larger fees.

I would do zero stars if I could. Booked my move a month in advance, confirmed the day before about my move and day of I was canceled on because they over booked and decided they were not going to move me that day. Nothing offered, no apologies, just told “find someone better to help you”. And that’s exactly what I did. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Much better and more reliable movers out there. The most unprofessional and unkind experience ever.

This was the second time using this company and I regret it. The first time it was quick with moving the furniture and taking care of properly wrapping my belongings. This time it was ok or less than. They did not wrap any or my furniture …
