The prices are OUTRAGEOUS. The “estimate” is a complete waste of time. You can guarantee that the final price will be much higher. If you want labor only… they still charge you to bring a giant moving truck to your address and charge you the mileage and gas for it, even if you tell them you have your own truck and simply need the workers to load it. Obviously a tactic to take extra money from you.

This is the first negative review I’ve ever given. We were moving from Kansas City to Fredericksburg. We got an estimate for 5300 dollars from a company in Kansas City. My daughter lives in Fredericksburg and recommended Affordable Movers. We got their estimate for 6305. We decided to use them because they could also move us from storage to our new house in a few months. When they arrived on moving day they only had three people when the estimate was for four. The owner started complaining right away.

I do not recommend this company. We had the movers make two additional errands for us. That was to take two items to two different places. One was two blocks away and the other 3 miles away. Trevor accepted a tip of $50 for one of the additional errands while knowing he was going to charge considerably more than the bid. Then Trevor had us sign off on the work order before telling us the final price. This was a move from our house in Fredericksburg to a storage unit 4 miles away.

This was the first time I had ever used a professional mover so I was a bit apprehensive that the price would be high and the move would take days if not weeks. I got a very reasonable estimate, but Carrell emphasized that it was an estimate only, and the final price would depend on the exact circumstances. They showed up at our Fredericksburg house at 8:00 in the morning, loaded our household goods, and by 3:00 the next day they had finished unloading everything in our new home in Colorado Springs, over 800 miles…

We had an amazing moving experience with Affordable Movers of the Hill Country. From the responsiveness of the scheduler to the fine men that moved our belongings, everyone was super friendly and highly professional. Our belongings were handled with complete care and the efficiency of the loading and unloading was something to watch. These people are awesome! They are very careful and work like there is no tomorrow! They ask where everything goes, put it all together and make sure you do not have to do anything. It was never stressful, just done in a very smooth and efficient manner. Will definitely use them again!
