Word of caution, if the movers damage your home, you will not be compensated . The movers worked hard and got the job done as well as they could, but I had two problems with a piano move from Altawana. The first was communication on the move. I requested a piano move from someone's home to my own. I noted there were stairs, the piano was 800 lbs and that we would need at least three movers. I was given two movers and ended up having to assist the movers for the stairs portion of the move.
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!! They did not show up at all. Not late... They did not show up. They were supposed to show up at 1 o’clock. They called at 1230 saying they …
My family and I used this company to move our house hold stuff from our home to our storage unit they were great on the first move. But that’s when the nightmare started is when we called them back to move our stuff from the storage to our new home. This company turned in to a fall down company I asked for a big truck and when they showed up they had a small cube van .So sent the guys away as the truck was not right for the job they where needed for.
I hired Altawana Express for my recent move within Medicine Hat. While their hourly rate is slightly cheaper than other moving companies in town, they are most definitely NOT a better value. Overall the move took almost double the time as my last move (with the same amount of stuff and a shorter distance). You are way better off going with Railside or Five Star. Also, neither of the movers showed up with masks.
My experience with this company was overwhelmingly negative. They literally took twice as long to move less stuff than the last time I moved. They damaged high-end mid-century modern pieces. They did not use adequate masking. They were …

I forgot to leave a reveiw ,but in 2020 I phoned 5 companies and am so glad I found Altwana.They packed my mom's condo every item,clothing dishs ,every room, moved her belongings to another province, flat fee no paying for overnite fee,mileage,just a flat fee.When we arrived at her apartment,I had asked to place furniture exactly as they removed a and they unpacked with care even made the bed ,it was a smaller replica of where she had been living.Seemless move,no damage fair pricing,looked after mom's items as if…

We contacted Altawana on what I would consider very short notice, and they showed up as scheduled 2 days later.. wow! Impressive! I explained to Paul and Josh that we only had a few things to move from the storage container in the driveway (all the heavy stuff we couldn’t move on our own). They treated the situation as if they were moving our entire house. They took the time to remove the door and carefully placed carpet runners (both up and down) to protect the newly laid carpet.

I rarely use this word, but they were awesome. They called 30 minutes after I sent a request and sent a crew within 30 minutes. I needed a sofa moved from the underground garage to the condo and the crew had it done it 20 minutes. They were fast, professional, and friendly. Shane you have a great crew.
