Title: Unprofessional crew, destroyed furniture, and zero accountability I had a terrible experience with American Moving and Hauling during our recent move. Inexperienced Crew & Severe Property Damage: On moving day, a crew member openly admitted they were newly hired and inexperienced. The movers and packers were excellent, professional, and kind; however, the company's management and operations are the core issue. I was given a very competitive initial quote of $2,175 ( around 1900 after referral discounts) (including $688 for packing and $1,487 for moving) based on Zillow photos and my agent's advice to estimate high. The company never requested an on-site estimate, despite claiming they did.

Updating my review to 1 star - as I’ve unpacked the past few months, I’m noticing pieces of furniture are missing. The issues I encountered were all with my patio furniture. I moved all my boxes myself and hired this company to move my furniture. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. *** I had high expectations for this company given how many 5 star reviews they have. Unfortunately, furniture was broken and went missing during my move, which took less than 3 hours.

The (three, should have been five) guys were very nice and respectful, but the overall experience was poorly planned. I say that with optimism. Here are some items: 1. Price. Feels like a bait and switch. Ultimately cost me close to TRIPLE what was quoted. Even after they walked through before getting started, then having me sign on the quote. 2. Duration. Took double the amount of time. Unacceptable. 14 hours total. 3. Labor. I helped move items, remove and fold moving blankets, and assemble furniture.

I had to call the cops. I didn't hire American Moving to move anything for me, but three of their employees tried to fight me in the parking lot where I have a storage unit. I went to pick up stuff from my storage unit. When I arrived, I saw their truck blocking the door to my unit. I have an exterior access unit and this is not uncommon. Over the last year and a half of being in this unit, I've probably had my door blocked by no less than 10 people.

I hate to write this review because this company was delightful to work with however their crews caused extensive damage to our furniture, walls, ceiling fans, lamps and shades and wardrobe boxes. If you don't purchase "full insurance coverage" their third party only covers items based on weight. We were offered $80 for priceless antique damage and expensive brand new furniture damage.

Be fully aware before hiring this company that they will double the price they originally told you - I have helped over 150 Families move and wanted to give this company a try based on a recommendation and was completely let down and so was my client. I sent photos to this company. We gave them all the information we possibly could. They came back later telling us that there was way more than they expected.

Absolutely the worst company we have dealt with. They sent a third personal who was rude as can be. Did not put our items where instructed. When I complained they said this employee is just passionate. It wasn’t passion it was completely unprofessional and rude. Then they charged 15% for using a credit card but waits until you are paying to tell you. I absolutely would never use this worthless moving company. We still can’t find items in the garage. Absolutely horrible!! Usually women owned company’s take pride.
