Although they helped move our things across the country, they stiffed us big time on things they promised they would do regarding our move and some of our things went missing and some valuable things broke. I guess there are no good movers out there.
AMWAT did not move you across country. It is unfortunate you had a bad experience but AMWAT did not move your items. Recall, you hired ABF to move your items across the country. We cannot be held responsible for another company's performance.
This happened a few years ago. Their price could be potentially much higher. I already mentioned to them about my tight budget, but their quote ignored my message completely and generated a price way beyond my limit. Later I found that a common freight service offered 1/3 of their price. (Note: I first quoted with AMWAT because I was told by our staff that the regular freight cost could be "astronomical," which turned out to be false later.) AMWAT Moving Warehousing & Storage is a full service, professional household goods and commercial goods relocation company as well as operating a local receiving and distribution warehouse and air conditioned storage. We have long term employees who we pay very well.
Believe the negative reviews! Note, every one of them, this company denies even DEALING with the person. No, they did not move our belongings, because they overbooked themselves, (just like United!) and like the other people complaining here, refused to honor their word to move us on a particular date. Please use any other company than Amwat. The owners categorically deny even making a good ole mistake like anyone else and will blame the homeowner no matter what. As you can see! You've been warned good and proper.

I don't know how the other reviewers were able to afford AMWAT. When I received the estimate, I didn't know whether to laugh or be insulted that they thought I was that stupid. The gentleman came to my house, and saw my neighborhood, and the value of my stuff, so he should have known I could not afford the outrageous amount he sent in the estimate. For that kind of money, I could just leave my old things behind and buy brand new things for the house I'm moving to!

Horrible experience. Will never use this service again and 100% advise my friends and family not to. The operators are downright irresponsible business people and refuse accept ownership of their mistakes. I was by myself and needed help and they really screwed me by not honoring the date and time we had originally agreed on. I ended up having to pay to extend my lease because they couldn't make it on time. NEVER AGAIN!

I can’t say enough good things about Amwat. From the initial meeting for an estimate to moving day, they were professional, friendly, and efficient. Norris, Max, and Marion arrived on time on moving day and swiftly and carefully packed up all of our large pieces. They were so friendly and helpful. The next morning, there they were at the new house, 150 miles south, and unloaded everything by room so we could find things. Moving is stressful, to say the least, but Norris, Max, and Marion made it as easy as possible.

AMWAT movers were used for my transition from Gainesville to Tallahassee. The team from the desk to the moving guys were great with communication. The service we opted for was to have us packed and moved, storage for 2 weeks, then delivery of our boxes to their respective rooms. The showed up on time, called us to give us fair warning of their arrival. They were very efficient, for the packing, they sent 3 guys. They have the boxes with them for us to pack too. Maurice was the team leader.

I have never used professional movers before, and now I will never move without AMWAT again! I can say, without a doubt, that their company, their team, and the way they do business is far superior. The other local moving company happened to be the one who moved the family out of the house we had purchased. It was this experience, when I dropped by to check on our newly purchased home during the move, that demonstrated the night and day difference between moving companies.
