APACA Moving & Storage

As part of one (contracted out) leg of a job-covered relocation, APACA packed and loaded my belongings. The people seemed nice—the planner/evaluator was on time and did a great job; the movers were nice and great to talk to. That said, we’re now missing $1.5k worth of stuff: power tools, a camera and accessories, and some jewelry. These items were not in any of the boxes at our destination and all boxes were accounted for. Moreover, the rooms/house was empty after packing.

Well, I guess it's a question of how much of a glutton for punishment one is. Where to begin? Let me first say I probably gave the crew $1,200-1,500 in tips over the course of 5 days. They were hard workers and friendly. No question. However, despite all our efforts of clearly marking IN RED things that were NOT to be shipped, and things IN GREEN that were to be shipped, and repeatedly telling them which was which, we still wound up with a ton of stuff which we didn't want.

Horrible service. I had an in home estimate set up and no one showed up or even called. I wasted my time and energy waiting for what I thought would be professional movers only to find how unprofessional they really are by pulling this. I called repeatedly to reach someone and no one would pick up the phone and my messages have not been returned. Do not use this company, go woth someone who actually understands reliability, this company will leave you hanging.

We made an appointment for an estimator to come to our house at 5:00 pm. He never showed up and we did not get a phone call to let us know. We called the office in the morning to cancel, will not do business with these people because of the lack of consideration.

My wife and I recently seperated from the military and all of our fabric furniture was filled with mold and was wet. We had to return all of our furniture back to storage for mold remediation. It has been two months and we have barely heard anything back from this company. The worker here in charge of our stuff has not done his job at all. We have had to live with little to no furniture for months at our apartment.

I recently moved out of state and the move with Apaca was a nightmare from start to finish. They seem to be unable to handle basic business communication and they never followed-up with me -- if I left a message regarding dates for the move, for example, I would have to call them back, they never called me. EVER. And then they were five days past the set delivery time, so I ended up camping out in an empty house for 2 weeks.

They broke pretty much everything I own. If it was wood, it had lots of knicks on it and/or it was completely broken. Things like paintings were handled extremely carelessly with almost zero protection. A majority of the screws and bolts I needed to reassemble items were missing. Things like my bed frame were only partially reassembled in a way I wouldn't notice so they could leave earlier. I'm amazed it didn't break due to the lack of supports before I noticed it.

If you value your possessions, do not use this place. ESPECIALLY if you’re military! My husband received orders to California and we were assigned Apaca to pack our goods at our home in Albuquerque. My mother’s wedding band set was stolen by one of the movers from a jewelry box in my bedroom. My mother passed away when I was 20 years old, so this was the worst possible thing they could have taken from my home. We also witnessed one of the movers literally tossing boxes down the stairs.
