ProRelo Bekins Moving and Storage

Contracted with ProRelo in Nov of 2022. Move date and destination was undetermined at the time and things were to remain in storage until further direction. Chris decided to put things on a truck that was headed to FL over a full week early. Chris refused any responsibility for additional charges and things were broken beyond repair. Horrible experience. Unprofessional. Horrible communication and terrible service.

Do you want critical pieces of your furniture deliveries to be missing with no one taking ownership of the mistake? Because if so, ProRelo is the company for you. I admittedly did not get a choice in having to work with ProRelo. I ordered furniture from Arhaus and ProRelo is apparently the company their carriers contract with to do the local deliveries. Everything started out OK. I got a call everything was ready to be delivered, except for one item.

Pro-Relo Bekins, a local moving company I used for a five mile move, provided subpar service. Their packers broke my forty-year-old pewter chess pieces, which had survived three previous moves over the past forty-five years. They also damaged the lid of our new chest freezer by placing heavy items on it. The movers also scratched the screen of our 86-inch television, the wood on the front door of our new home, and were unable to get our Sleep Number bed working for a week.

This company had lost its credibility and its new management is a complete chaos. They charge you every penny, and they disappear if any problem rises. Unprofessional and unprepared leadership. It’s a disaster! I dealt with the previous owner, Max Kilman who gave me confidence and made me believe in their customer care commitment. I trusted him. My move was from NC to Albuquerque in early 2021 including a 4 bedroom 4,000sq/ft home and my car, leaving my home content in storage at Prorelo Albuquerque for 14 months.

Had a driver of one of the ProRelo trucks knock over a rock wall in my front yard as they were leaving from a pickup at a neighbors house. Contacted the business and they sent someone out to look at the damage. I called several times and was told by the person that answered the call that Chris was working on it. The incident happened on March 18th and it is now getting to the middle of August and I have not heard from them. Initially Chris was going to come out and repair the wall but he had no masonry experience.

Unprofessional experience with dispatcher Betty I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience on Thursday around 4 p.m. deserves attention. When I called to clarify that the pickup address I provided was correct but located upstairs, I politely asked if the driver could call when nearby since the site is closed and I’d need to open the door. The dispatcher, Betty, was very rude in her response.

Denise, who apparently is in charge of billing, charged my credit card for over $2500 without my authorization or notifying me. She also overcharged me by over $600. When I called and politely asked for an explanation she behaved like a child and yelled at me and tried to blame me even though it was clearly her own error. She listed all of the ways that it was probably my fault before she was even willing to check the records to see that she indeed charged me more than the agreed upon amount on the paperwork.

It's been a nightmare. First delivery of my 3 part saga: they put my bed together (white glove service) only to discover loose screws and extra parts. They also hit my son's car bringing the furniture in. #2: I paid for in home delivery, and they left it on my driveway, saying they can not remove the furniture from the pallette ergo, can't bring it in. My furniture was in the driveway, in the sun, for 4+ hours before they got around to finishing my delivery.
