This was by far the worst moving experience I’ve ever had, and I won’t be using this Shell Front location again. My first two experiences were fantastic: quick, professional, efficient, and no nonsense. But this time? A completely different story. The crew that showed up was underprepared, unprofessional, and painfully slow. I was told four movers would arrive, but only three showed up. I sent a detailed list of what needed to be moved, and it was clearly ignored.
Starting to wonder if this is a scam. An appointment was originally scheduled for Saturday between 9:00–10:00 AM, but I was contacted at the last minute on Friday and asked to move it to 2:00–3:00 PM. When the new appointment time arrived, there was no communication and no one showed up. I was then told they would arrive by 4:00 PM at the latest, but again there was no show, no phone call, and no response to messages. Very disappointing experience and a complete lack of professionalism.
Do not hire this company to move you, you've been warned! (Also beware of Thumbtack, they hire un-vetted scammers.) The company quoted one price of $695 and brought a phone device not showing the full contract and at the end of the move charged over $1,800. This company padded charges, arrived two hours late, intentionally extended both drive and move time, placed my furniture on the ground, did not bring proper tools to disassemble furniture, refrigerator, washer and dryer.
The company, Art of Moving, came here. I just asked if they could move or load my things in 3 to 4 hours. Then, I said, “You’re slim, but you seem strong.” I just said that. You’re slim, one of the team, but I know you’re strong. I hope you can finish it in 3 to 4 hours. And then this Asian guy said to me, “You’re harassing us.” No, I’m not; I’m just asking if they can finish in 3 to 4 hours. “No, I will charge you for 8 hours, because this is not—” and then he calculated it on his phone, and he said 839.
Very bad service. Firstofall the guys came late and they asked me to carry the stuff to the truck. They were slow and trying to waste time by talking some random stuff. When we reached the dropoff location, they left the bedframe in living room as they were not able to take the bed frame inside the room without dismantling it. I asked multiple times to dismantle it as they were putting scratches in the walls. But they didnot because they didnot had proper tools to dismantle it.

Movers did what they were suppose to do but in the process damaged a door. I reached out to them, but they took no responsibility. DO NOT HIRE THEM REGARDLESS of the positive reviews. If something happens, they will deny deny deny thy did anything wrong. If you reach out to the owner, Tim, to make the situation right he will not help either.

I had a fantastic experience with The Art of Moving on December 5, 2025. My arrival window was 8–10 AM, and the movers had all my belongings loaded and we were on the road by 8:32 AM. At my new place, they arrived promptly and worked efficiently even with the one flight of stairs and no elevator. They finished the entire move by 9:29 AM. The crew was incredibly kind, professional, focused, and fast. I truly appreciated how smoothly everything went.

I had a great experience with Art of Moving on January 2. While I initially thought I would hire movers to pack a U-Haul and drive it myself, I changed my mind a few weeks before my move. I'm SO THANKFUL that I hired this company! My move was from the Bay Area to the Eastern Sierra region and took a total of 17 hours. The moving team worked so hard as the move-out required navigating 3 flights of stairs which took longer than estimated (I had a lot of boxes!), followed by a 7 hour (each way) drive.

I had an excellent experience with Art of Moving. Tim, who handled my initial inquiry, was courteous, professional, and provided a very reasonable price for our one-way move from San Jose to Redding. The movers, Arsan and his coworker, were respectful, hardworking, and efficient throughout the entire move. They handled our belongings with care and went above and beyond by setting up our dining table, bed frame, and Murphy bed.
This is the first time we used movers to move and our first time experience was to our satisfaction. Mike and Enzo was very professional, considerate, hard worker and respectful. They changed our outlook about hiring movers. I will recommend them to my relatives and friends anytime. Thank you Mike and Enzo!
