I used Atlas Moving along with a local mover, Carroll's Moving to move from Martha's Vineyard, MA to Seattle, WA. My possessions left my home on Martha’s Vineyard onto a truck, already half loaded with another customer's possessions, which was then switched from Carroll's truck to an Atlas Moving truck off island and shipped to Seattle two a storage facility and to a homeI rented that home for three months. When I bought a new home I had had friends move my stuff from storage to my final home nearby.
It's a shame that I'm forced to even give even one star to this organization. After damaging and destroying so many of our items, and losing items altogether, Atlas apparently promises to reimburse you for the damages to the items caused or lost. We had a like new, $4,000 leather couch with recliners. When we received the couch, it had significant scratches and damage to the leather. We pointed out the damages immediately upon delivery.
This review concerns Atlas Van Lines; I am posting it here because Gale (phone operator) indicated that this is the same company as AVL and they share staffing. EMPLOYEE THREATENED TO USE A GUN ON BYSTANDER -- DO NOT USE ATLAS VAN LINES. This company was moving into my apartment building, leaving a (locked) front door propped open for over four hours.
Driver illegally parked on wrong side at Fort Craig rest area south bound in new Mexico! Dot number 125550, glad they can't read or follow the law!
