Bellhop Moving

Worst company. I would say a scam. Hired them to move my grandma to assisted living apartment. Two small guys weighing about 120lbs showed up. Refused to use their dolly, carried small items together to run up the time and could not move the armoire, the movers said they are literally too weak. I had to call and pay two men and a truck to finish the job the next day.

I strongly advise against using Bellhop Moving. Initially, the booking agent seemed friendly and accommodating, but the experience quickly turned sour. They subcontracted the job to another company without transparency, resulting in communication issues and unexpected fees. Changing the move window by a mere two hours became an ordeal, with delayed responses and unexplained rate changes. Despite my efforts to resolve issues with their operations team, I was met with indifference and lack of follow-up.

I am very disappointed with Bellhop service. I have planned move on September 24th at 2 PM CST and I have packed all my stuff including dresser, bed, TV and Kitchen utensils and sofa coach. They did not appear at 2 PM at my door. I tried to follow-up with Bell hopes multiples times and they said they are checking with coordination team and later they confirmed at 3 PM CST that they could not come to my apartment because they do not have workforce available.

I chose Bellhop because I used them once before and the service was great. This time it was a symphony of errors. On the day of my move 2 out of the 3 movers showed up. They took 3 hours to pack the truck where it should have taken 1 or 2 tops. One of the movers called their friends to help but they only helped for a little while and then left. The lead mover wasn't feeling well and ended up not finishing so they had to call in 1 replacement and that took another 2 hours.

I reserved a team of 3 men for 3 hours with Bellhop moving. It should have been plenty to unload my PODS unit: A team of 4 men for 4 hours had fully loaded it, including packing everything into boxes, carefully wrapping the furniture, disassembling larger furniture pieces, marking what room every box went in, perfectly tetrising everything into a PODS container to make the most of every foot of space, and more.

UPDATE: THEY ARE STILL AWFUL. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is what I received from "Karen." "We’ve thoroughly reviewed your order and confirm that a $713.20 discount was applied. While we understand this may not align with your expectations, this adjustment reflects the maximum discount we’re able to offer, and no further reductions can be made." DO NOT RECOMMEND. My experience with Bellhops was horrific. They damaged the headboard of my bed when trying to assemble it. My bed is now unusable. This was an extremely expensive piece of furniture--the repairs due to the damage they caused is going to cost me $500-800 and to replace the headboard, it will be close to $4000 (this bed was imported from Europe). Bellhops wants to give me $66 for reimbursement, which is just a drop in the bucket. Absolutely NOT OK.

I would give them 2 1/2 stars. The guys they sent were extremely nice and got the job done(eventually). For the amount of time and money I spent I should of just went with a different company that insured us with a set time and paid the little extra money. I was a little upset we couldn't move my dumbell set due to not being enough room on the truck. We where quoted for 3 guys and only 2 showed up.
