Sunrise Moving and Packing

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am editing my prior review (5-23-26). While we still feel Jessie and Nick were wonderful and even though there was a response to their review, this company does not care about their customers. Nor do they know what they are doing. They never got back to us, we still never received any apology or explanation even though they had us technically file a claim but never responded.

I helped my Mom book Sunrise for her move from Missouri to North Carolina. Simply stated, I don't think Sunrise is equipped to handle cross-country moves. I would not recommend them. Also, DO NOT buy the premium insurance. Appears to be worthless. Here's what went wrong: 1) Some of crew members did not do a good job packing, leaving boxes half empty. Then the truck ran out of space. Our options were to purchase another $10K moving truck or leave items behind.

Moving halfway across country is stressful enough and this company did everything to make it all the more stressful. I would classify their logistics as terrible, at best. When I initially called to inquire about their services back March, I was told a certain price. I asked then if they needed to come out to look at our stuff to ensure everything and they said no. When I called again in April to sure up dates and the price and asked if they needed to come take a look, they said no.

I originally posted a positive review but as I slept on my experience I realized I was naive about what really went on under my nose. My window time was from 12-4 for an arrival. Around 2:50pm I was called and told they had approximately 30 minutes left with their other job and then a 30 minute drive to my first location. I left work and arrived at my first location around 4pm. 4:25pm I called and asked where my movers were and was instructed they just finished their morning job and was on the way.

Review Change Roger's crew helped us with our business move and they were very kind, professional and made the process easy to handle. I changed my review because I used them again for a local personal move and it was disastrous. Although the actual movers were very nice, I was told the move would take 7 hours for completion. The first day actually took 14 hours and there was still a whole truck unloaded. They had to come back the next day for more hours.

I booked a move with this company through U-haul on 09-14-2021. The guys actually did a terrible job. One of the guys name was Josh as I recall. I moved from Las Vegas to St. Louis, Mo so their job was to move the furniture from the uhual directly into the storage in St. Louis. Previously I hired movers in Vegas to pack the things into the uhual which those movers wrapped my furniture with moving blankets.

I highly advise against using Sunrise Moving and Packing. They are NOT a professional or full service moving company. Chaz, in sales, outlined and promised services that were not provided on the day of the move. They damaged both our properties and numerous pieces of furniture. They arrived in a U-Haul Truck with no shrink wrap. They had only 20 furniture pads from U-Haul and NO other moving equipment. They had several inexperienced movers who damaged stairs, walls, doorframes, and our furniture.

I don’t think I would ever recommend this company to anyone. Used this company to move into a new house. The two movers seemed good the first 30 minutes then we couldn’t understand what was taking so long after hours of them moving our items into the truck. Upon checking in on them outside they were sitting on their phone just hanging out. Throughout the move they kept complaining stating they hated the job in the summer (it’s March), why did they make themselves available this week, etc.
